Exterior: This series of Mercedes (123) was the last to use significant amount of chrome. Chrome bumpers, chrome mirrors, lots of chrome detailing. Driving: silky smooth, quiet as the grave. No squeaks or rattles. Smooth acceleration and a fair wallop of speed in sport mode. Automatic 4 speed gearbox is delightful. The power steering is very much over assisted. This car is not for boy racers but makes a reasonable fist of corners. Built as a gentleman's cruiser the car is designed to cruise motorways and A roads in plutocratic luxury. Fuel economy is about 25 mpg.
Interior: This is what interiors should look like all wood and leather - gorgeous. People who travel in it say its like driving about in a club chair at a gentlemans club. Just so classy and timeless.

Reliability: This is a beautifully engineered car. I adjusted the fan belt recently. You just have to see the mechanism that does this.Simple to use and great to watch! Nothing has gone wrong in the three years I have had her other than consumables like brake pads and discs. Parts are not that expensive either.
Wow Factor: My best moment was at a set of traffic lights when a new Porsche 911 drew alongside with a glamorous blonde lady in the passenger seat. She was elbowing the bloke who was driving and saying look at that car! LOL bet he paid 30 times what I paid for mine.
If you are looking for a cheap and not to difficult way into the classic car market this is the type of car you should consider. See my personal home page for photos.
