Mercedes S500
Advantages: A car to judge all others... Disadvantages: 25mpg (though the benifits do out way this)
I purchased this magnificent car about 4 months ago. You hear the likes of Jeremy Clarkson say...
"if you want to know whats going to be fitted in cars in the next 10 years, well look in an S class."
I actually have the S500 Limo Petrol model, that 5.0 litre V8 engine is more than enough to get this sizable car accellarating in an instant. This car brings new meaning the the words "spacious" and "luxurious". All seats are electricly movable (even ... ...which is very very nice on those hot days. Enless other gadgets such as electric blinds, fridge, TV/DVD, car phone, voice recognition, distronic and triptronics make this car the ultimate vehicle which all others are judged by.
Concidering buying one ? Take me word for it, it will be the best purchase you have ever made in your life. When your crusing along you know people are looking at you and wondering "what does he do for a living..."
Being ...

Sumptuous Luxury, Cheaper Than You Think
Advantages: Highly respected, classy cruiser, well equipped Disadvantages: Image is wrong unless you're old and fat
...the road, however, is the Mercedes S-Class. "Hold on!" I hear you cry, "what about the Rolls Royce?" Well yes, you probably have a point there, but how many times do you hear a motoring journalist whittle on about the S-Class? To see what’s going to be on your car in ten years time, they say, take a look at today’s Mercedes S- Class... And they’re right. What could only be found on an S-Class twenty years ago is bog standard on a Ford Fiesta today, ... ...on the clock, affording a Mercedes S-Class just gets a little bit easier. Take the 2002 model Mercedes S320 CDi, for example. At five years old, this is a steal of a car: costing over £50’000 brand new, today you can pick one up for less than £20’000.
To look at, the S-Class is luxury redefined. The exterior of the car simply exudes success without being brash about it, unlike some other Mercedes-Benz models. Silver is the best colour for this car, ...

King of the road
Advantages: Big, spacious, dominant, beast of a vehicle yet elegent. Disadvantages: A little large, but that's what some people will buy it for!
We bought ours in 1996/7 for au$200,000+ (around 80,000+ Uk Pounds in today's exchange rate) and it has been a terrific vehicle, a masterpiece of engineering and class. It is like the Kind of the road, large, powerful and luxurious. It is a heavy car but has an enigine with enough power to throw it around. We've avoided one or two crashes simply due to it's manuvrability at speed, not something you'd expect from such a chunky vehicle. The interior ... ...of years old, it is certainly not out of date and beats the interior facilities of most of the present new cars hands down. It is extrememly spacious with big seats and the boot is big enough to hold a years worth of shopping. This is a powerful vehicle but if you're hoping not to stand out, this is not the vehicle for you. It's certainly not a show toy but it's not discreet either. Now, second hand S-320s won't set you back too much as when we first ...

Mercedes S320, series 300SEL W140 1993
Advantages: Very high build quality, silent running, prestige, badge, lush, solid, fast, sumptuous. Disadvantages: Difficult to park, dealer will empty your bank balence, large car - small....... !
Mercedes 300SEL , S320 Limo 1993.
How I acquired the vehicle…
In my course of work (Mobile vehicle mechanic) I meet a lot of people in the trade.
Because of this, I get the nod when any quality vehicles turn up in the scrapper (for what ever reason they were scrapped).... many times this is down to un-economic repair costs. Which are for this beast, astronomical? ...well if you are prey to main dealer prices and practices, cars like this will ... ...thought) Pushing the Mercedes harder into bends is possible and quite fun, but careful use of the throttle / power to pull it through the bends is necessary to avoid too much body roll. The large amount of weight will have the balloon type tyres screeching too. If you are a 30mph lover for all situations then you'll never have a problem with the handling. ;-)
I recently did a long distance trip in it and found this is where the Merc' is at its best.

Mercedes S Class - The worlds best luxury car - FACT!
Advantages: Fully loaded luxury motor leaving passengers and drivers wanting for nothing. Disadvantages: Can be expensive if it goes wrong if you can't find the best repairshop. Initial outlay cost.
...other car? It is a Mercedes and the best of the lot!!! The S class has been around for many years and is currently on the W221 range, which came out in 2006. The review I will be writing is about the W220, in my eyes the nicer of the two. What you will come to appreciate is that the S class is the benchmark of the motoring world. What comes as standard on the S class today will be standard on a Mondeo in ten years time. The S280 cost £52,000 when ... ...far between. Servicing at a Mercedes main dealer can be expensive at between £2-500 per service. However like most savvy Mercedes owners you can take the car to an independent Mercedes specialist who will service the vehicle for between £1-300 dependent on service, which really isn’t that bad. Fuel consumption is pretty standard with a combined figure of around 29MPG. In the town it can be quite thirsty but when you open her up on the motorway she ...
