As a driver of the C220 CDI Sport Auto (08) model I have to openly admit that this vehicle surpasses any of its rivals. As an employee of a fleet management company I have the benefit of being able to test drive most prestige vehicles and where the BMW 320 and Audi A4 finish the C220 CDI Sport is just beginning!
Where to start... well from a purely astethic point of view the C-Class is a joy to behold. With a high specification sports body kit and 18" AMG alloy wheels the C220 CDI Sport is not only ideal for executive drivers but is also a stylish vehicle which appeals to almost any driver.
Whilst the appearance of the vehicle is fantastic the drive is what really had me. Fast, reliable, and comfortable are just a few words to describe the C220 CDI Sport, but in addition to this the vehicle is an animal. When compared wiht the BMW 320 equivalent the handling is superior. When you take a corner at a higher speed than you should have done the BMW pulls around the corner, the Audi struggles to hold the road, and the C-Class just clings to the bends as if it expects the driver of the vehicle to have Formula 1 experience.
I have noticed in previous reviews that the cost of parts has been highlighted but I really wouldn't state that this was excessive in comparison to the Audi and BMW rivals. Just on par for a prestige vehicle.
The only fault I would note on the C-Class is the same as every other Mercedes-Benz. If you want an extra then you have to pay for it! Comand navigation is nearly £2,000, whilst even cupholders equate to an additional cost of nearly £150.
Despite the cost implications in my experience there really is no other choice when looking for a quality and stylish executive saloon.

Advantages: Runs very smoothly for a diesel car and i love the automatic gear box! Disadvantages: Fake leather interior lets it down! Why can't Mercedes use soft real leather like Audi or Saab?
