From the outside, the face lifted version gave the car a sleeker look, it's more stylish, especially with the new colour style lights. It also looks little less conserative now, lovely as ... ...a old man.
Soon as you step inside the car you know this car is solid as a rock, well put together and the interior oozes quality. The leather has that quality look, feel and smell to it. The seats are comfortable, with partial electronic adjustments. The dash is clear and logically laid out, though this design has been going on for many years now.

It also looks little less conserative now, lovely as I love the car but don't want to look like a old man.

The climate control is fantastic, it's fast and very powerful, useful when the cars been out in the sun and is heat wave inside. The sat nav is amazing peice of equipment, so far I have used it approx 10 times and only once did it not live upto it's expectations, well worth the extra money for, most of all it looks so flash.
The Multi function steering wheel is not easy to use and takes time getting used to, but be careful while driving.
The car is very roomy and will accomadate 5 people with comfort, the boot is also a good size, though smaller than the previous E class.
The 2.8 litre V6 is smooth and responsive, it is happy in town and cruises at ease on the motorway, very relaxing drive. The 5 speed tipfuction auto box provides smooth gear change, put your foot down and you can feel the power being delivered to the rear wheels as you effortlessy overtake. The car however is not to wallet friendly when it comes to petrol, a full tank can cost upto £60 and will average 28mpg.
The handling is not fanstastic with some body roll, but it's a marked improvement on the old E class, I feel the suspension is a bit on the soft side and new stiffer springs can resolve this.
It's a high quality luxury car, which I jump at the chance to drive. Superb quality and super ride. Compared to BMW, Jaguar and the likes of Audi and Lexus, this car will hold its resale value, giving you the best return when you come to sell the car, to me that is very important.
...recommend ANYONE buying a new Mercedes to take up the offer to visit the factory and pick it up yourself. For the normal delivery charge, they will fly you out to Stuttgart, put you up in a hotel, show you around the factory, and then introduce you to your car before sending you on your way. Its a fabulous experience, and a great introduction to your car. However, for those anxious to try out their new car on Germany's autobahns a warning - we were ... ...ubiquitous as Brilliant Silver (THE Mercedes colour, I guess!)
The interior is similarly elegant. We chose mushroom leather which makes the interior feel very light and spacious. A warning though - if you go for leather, make sure you also specify heated front seats if you don't want a rude awakening on a winter morning! There is lots of space for everyone - front and rear passengers - and a big boot. There is plenty of room for 3 in the back, but ...

Advantages: Performace, Looks, Economy, Equipment, Space Disadvantages: Errr...none!
...have always been a masses Mercedes fan, and for my birthday my family rented a Mercedes C-Class for me. Avis very kindly upgraded me to an E-Class. I was expecting a 2.1 turbo diesel, or maybe a 200 Kompressor. I was absolutely thrilled when I found I had the 3.0i V6 engine.
The image, well what can I say. I think this car looks fantastic. It looks subtle, it looks sporty, it looks...well, I just think it's got it all! The previous shape E-Class ... ...can only dream that I would be able to own one for myself. But for those of you with enough money to go and buy one of these, please do not even consider an Audi or a BMW. You really can't go wrong with the new Mercedes E-Class. ...

Advantages: none except for the namebrand ??? Disadvantages: All you can think about and your nightmares becomes reality.
I am almost 50 and have driven numerous cars in my life. From American cars to Japanese cars to European cars. My previous car was a 2002 BMW 525i sedan. And, last year I purchased a new 2006 E280 GAS w/auto trans. SInce the beginning, it has never been satisfactory for me. It went in and out of the service garage. First, a bearing was changed after doing only 500 kilometers. Second, I had the airconditiong system checked and cleaned coz there was ... ...house, everytime I turned on the
aircondition. It will only go away when it has reach the cold temp. The tech told me that this is a very common problem with the E Class and other Benz models. Third, the engine knocks resulting from a bad EGR Valve, replaced. Now, Still waiting for new problems to come up.
Till now, It has ran only 9300 kilometers and supposed to be a very new car. But, check these problems. So, take my friendly advice. With the ...

...used BMW 5 series and Mercedes E series. I was very close to purchasing a BMW 523 which I chose over BMW 520 and the smaller BMW 328 until I saw a beautiful black Mercedes E230 Advantgarde with genuine blue glass windows. I was impressed by its gracefulness and smoothness. Of course the BMW 523 had a better engine response and a terrific grunt as well but was less roomy than the Mercedes. I was still unsure for about a week and then I saw a couple ... ...one thing: I bought the Mercedes E280! It was in terrific condition and have all electrical leather seats.
I have ugraded the E280 Michellin standard tyres to the dearer Pirelli Zero tyres and had the a general servicing done and so far I must say I am very happy and so is the wife and kids!
p.s.
There is a comment sent by my brother who is still a bachelor and currently driving a 4 year old BMW 530. ...

Advantages: Smooth Drive, Service Warranty excellent, Comfortable and the engineering is top notch Disadvantages: Interior a bit plain
a Mercedes second hand and have run it into the ground over the past three years, without any problems at all. I then managed to get hold of the MercedesE280 T Estate and it is a fantastic car. The German manufacturing process is unrivalled. The fuel consumption is roughly 40 MPG. The ride is smooth and the car is spacious enough to get a double bed in, which I have done. It is also great for dogs in the back which we have 2, and they are contented to just sit and look out of the windows whilst travelling with space to move around. The vision is great all around and the car is powerful to get you away from the lights without being left behind in a cloud of smoke. It is even good off road, however this would not be reccommended as it does not cope well with thick mud.
It is a comfortable ride and you feel refreshed when you arrive at your ...
Advantages: Great comfort, high spec, good economy Disadvantages: Big and therefore difficult to park
This is 1 of 3 cars that I own, my prescious Mercedes 260e. I bought this for a bargain price of £750 and its only got 2 owners! Now this car is a 1989 F reg, but the spec is more impressive than that on my 2001 Vectra!!!!
It has little luxuries like individual climate control for each side of the car and 4 electric windows + electric sunroof.
Also it has a sports mode and economy mode headrests all round, lots of power with lots of economy, even down to little things like a sunvisor in the middle to stop the sun getting through.
The build quality of this is amazing, it's got 103,000 miles on the clock and it is still going strong.
The engine is a monsterous 2.6 with automatic and it is an absolute pleasure to drive.
And the comfort, well that is out of this world, it has a beautiful colour coded velour interior which is lovely ...
