I have a MercedesML 270 cdi and I cant praise it enough. I have had a Range Rover and a Freelander in the past and deffinately will never change from Mercedes now. It is fabulous to drive, comfortable and even with only a 270 engine as opposed to the more powerful ones it pulls my horses fine. It gives the luxury of an upper class car but the security of a 4x4 with the reliability of German manufactoring. We have found a brilliant mercedes trained garage to service it and can honestly say that the running costs are half what it cost us when we owned the Land Rovers. It is Mercedes every time for us now! The 5 speed auto gearbox is not only very smooth when it changes but is a superb match for the diesel engine. ...
Advantages: Driving Position, Reliability, Comfort, Service Disadvantages: no, not really......
.e. they never see mud, but I have off-roaded all of my ML's and they are mind bogglingly safe and capable - don't be afraid to hit a river, a field or a muddy green lane, it is enormous fun, plus the looks you get from the ramblers who aren't used to seeing posh 4x4's being covered in dirt is priceless!
DON'T OPT FOR TRAVERTINE BEIGE, IT'S RESALE VALUE IS POOR!
the residuals of the diesel are superb compared to the ML320 V6, I can only reiterate the above they are great cars.
if you can buy one within the initial 3 year warranty, you are doing well - Mercedes will fix anything under (the transferable) warranty, just be cool and concise about the problem, they will help......this way, you can almost be assured of having a good buy, even if the trading garage or private seller don't offer a warranty.
Buy one, enjoy it and don't be ...
Advantages: A car you feel you can go anywhere in the ML 270cdi Disadvantages: Brake pad and disk wear.
have any problems.
As Mercedes are not going to introduce the post 2005- model ML in a 7 seater version there is likely to be good demand for the 2002-2005 7 seater model with a premium of up to £2000 as it would cost £2500 to retro fit 7 seat option and the conversion does not have rear A/C and opening quarter light windows in the rear so a factory family pack is worth the extra even if you don't need it as it when you go to sell it'll sell faster than a 5 seater car which will always be competing with X5 and Cayenne.
Must have's.
Privacy glass
Lux Pack (includes Auto transmission full Leather interior heated electric memory seats folding mirrors)
Family pack (two extra seats making the ML a 7 seater with A/C and rear opening windows).
So if you need 7 seats good economy goes anywhere style in your 4x4 then an ML may be the car ...
