Advantages Safety, 7 seater option, spacious

Disadvantages Fuel consumption, insurance problems, basic inside, costs

We have had this car for 3 months, previously owning a Citroen Picasso, and purchased it because we needed the extra seats with the 7-seater option.

We have three small children (all under 7) and, so far, I am in love with it. Yes, it is very thirsty on fuel and the servicing costs are somewhat of a shock, but it is worth it.

There is not much leg room when all the 7 seats are used but the third row are more than OK for the kids or a small adult. And when the thirds row of seats are folded up the boot space is still really big.

I am a little bit dissappointed about the luxuriousness of the interior, especially the dashboard. I expected to have a better stereo with maybe controls on the steering wheel and it does look a little bit dated for its year of manufacture. But when you look under the bonnet and see the steel frame under the construction and the all round air bags, together with the solid feel in handling you just feel safe in this car. When you put your foot down it certainly moves and I have actually been over fields in it and it performs nicely as a 4x4 off-roader.

Don't be put off by insurance companies saying they won't insure it without a tracker being fitted. Shop around. We used confused.com to get a great deal and pay around £360 per year fully comp. Lots of insurance companies will only insure with a tracker fitted, or will charge an astronomic amount or will say they will not insure against theft, only accidents. A tracker will cost about £250 to buy and around £12 per month to subscribe. Unnecessary!
