Advantages: High luxury with 5 star safety Disadvantages: Car taxing penalty
I have a Mercedes ML 270 cdi and I cant praise it enough. I have had a Range Rover and a Freelander in the past and deffinately will never change from Mercedes now. It is fabulous to drive, comfortable and even with only a 270 engine as opposed to the more powerful ones it pulls my horses fine. It gives the luxury of an upper class car but the security of a 4x4 with the reliability of German manufactoring. We have found a brilliant mercedes trained garage to service it and can honestly say that the running costs are half what it cost us when we owned the Land Rovers. It is Mercedes every time for us now! The 5 speed auto gearbox is not only very smooth when it changes but is a superb match for the diesel engine. ...
the BMW 320d and the Audi A4 1.8 tdi cant offer!
The internal styling of the C-class is unfortunately not as exceptional as its fuel economy. The boring fake wood and neverending dark leather and plastic does not harmonise with the beautifully curved exterior body, and many friends have commented on how dissapointinly unluxurious the interior is. The C220 cdi will set you back about £20000 on the road if you bought a new one today. However a second hand 2000 model would cost about £13000 with about 30000miles. This shows the excellent depreciation value that mercedes' have, and when your spending £20000 on a car its all important. Another aspect when considering price is the spare parts cost. Unfortunately spare mercedes parts are not cheap and the expertise ...

Acceleration is very good for the size of the thing and its not too noisy unless you are travelling at high speed on the motorway when it does get a little loud, almost like it needs a seventh gear. Also its fairly thirsty although only the same as the transits.
Mine is the new shape on a 56 plate not the old shape as shown in the picture and I have been told the older ones are faster but mine is deffinately fast enough and will do over 100mph apparently!!
All in all I would recomend the sprinter if you are thinking about a new van I have a couple of years left on my finance and then will definately be swapping it in for another.
The sat nav system is £1700 as a factory extra so I didn't bother and then I found a brand new one on ebay for £750 and got it fitted for £30 so thats worth looking into if you want the built in system.
I just wish ...
