Advantages Center Console shift stick no on the floor. Two side opening doors. Good visability. Diesel.
Disadvantages Road Noise and lots of it. Lack of storage shelves. Very heavy rear seats. Braking could be improved.
Mercedes-Benz never gives anything away, hence the V220 is as bare as you can get. They have taken a commercial van, made some basic changes and called it a passenger vehicle. There is a distinct lack of storage compartments; the road noise will eventually get to you, I had to repad the vehicle. The configuration typically comes with 6 seats, it should be 7, as buying another seat is very expensive. Normal braking is poor, it doesn’t feel like a Mercedes and the V220 offers very little extra. The heating is very basic and it takes a very long time before the vehicle is warm. Everything in the vehicle is under powered for comfort. Front and rear passenger climate control would have been nice. Before you buy it, please take some time to carefully consider others.
But the two sliding doors, centre gear stick, internal space and seat comfort are a positive.
