I should say at the outset that I am NOT a handyman type. However, my late father in law was a stonemason and I inherited some of his tools when he died, and our small patio badly needed relaying. So, remembering some of the tricks of the trade he'd imparted to me I set about cutting some paving slabs to size with a club hammer and a bolster chisel. What had seemed effortless when he did it suddenly became hard graft and, sure enough, the fourth slab toppled when I tried to turn it over and off I went to A&E with a broken finger.
A friend heard about my accident and, when he'd finished laughing at my ineptitude, he lent me his anglegrinder, a Bosch GWS 8-115C. I was amazed how quickly this contraption ripped through the paving slabs and straight after returning his I immediately bought one of my own.
It came in a smart, neatly ...
Advantages: Cuts through many materials, big disc Disadvantages: Awkward to hold, noisy, no carry case
at Axminster. One thing to bear in mind is that the cutting discs can wear down, so if you intend to be cutting a lot of blocks, it is probably worth buying a few extra discs. These discs can be bought from most DIY retailers for a few pounds.
The only real drawback to this anglegrinder is the fact that it doesn't have a carry case with it. This means that it is just lying around the workshop, and wont store very easily. This can be resolved by buying a universal carry case for it.
The anglegrinder comes with the following parts:
9 Inch anglegrinder
Stone cutting disc
Spanner
Inner flange
Outer flange (these are for holding the disc on)
Wrench
Handle
Wheel guard
Basically, it has everything you need to get started.
The technical specification is as follows:
Power - 2000W
No load speed - 6000 rpm
Grinding disc max diam - 230 ...
Advantages: Small phone packed full of features Disadvantages: camera slide feels a bit naff
I spent a long time trying to decide which mobile was best for me. I had a 3300, which was a nokia with mp3 features, but the buttons started wearing out. So one of the features had to be an mp3 player. This limited my choice down to only a few. I looked at the razor v3x, but it just looks ugly (in my opinion). I was tempted by the w800i, as I couldn't wait for the w810i.
I started comparing the w800 with the k750, and they are basically the same phone. The three big differences, (apart from the software) are the missing 512 memory stick, the different handfree, and the different facia.
The 512 memory stick came to about £22 ,the handsfree is around £10 on ebay, and personnaly I think the w800i's orangeness is a bit ugly.
I have owned a smartphone before this, the sendo x, it kept crashing and was really slow. But so far I ...
