Applications such as MS Office run without any problems, and Windows XP is an intuitive and stable OS. Personally, I feel that the Voyager 5614 is an excellent machine, and if the current crop of Evesham machines is as good as this (press comments would suggest they are) then they are worth serious consideration to anyone looking for a new laptop. I strongly recommend Evesham and the Voyager range. (Added in response to comments - cheers for the feedback) Warranty wise, as far as I can remember (without digging out the documents) my machine has the standard Evesham 2 year warranty, which if it's anything like the one on my desktop PC should allow an engineer to be sent out to repair any major problems... Advantages: A Microsoft product you can touch. Works well - easy to install. Just the right amount of extra facilities

The other occasion was whilst working with my laptop on holiday, having found out that my current Targus optical mouse had developed a fault and was no longer recognised as a valid USB device. Six days with the laptop's 'slidy pad thingy' was enough to convince me that a new mouse was needed urgently, as the laptop would never survive the fall from the 1st floor window into the streets of downtown Settle and that's where the Microsoft Wireless Notebook Optical Mouse 4000 (quicker to install than to say) comes into this sorry tale. Well, it's only sorry as far as here. Once it arrived from Amazon, partly subsidised by a £10 voucher from 'yoonohoo.co.uk', there's been no looking back. Considering the problems I encountered installing and setting up BT Broadband on my new computer using Windows XP I should in hindsight have left well alone, but my partner was so impressed with the speedy broadband connection and my new computer that he immediately bought himself a new computer as he wanted to join in the fun.
