GPS reception enhancement.

Advantages: Greatly improved reception in built up areas
Disadvantages: If externally mounted. It shows theives there is a Sat-Nav on board.

A very well designed product primarily designed to overcome reception problems in cars with heated windscreens that can adversely affect reception. Easy to install (good magnet allows you to site the antenna vitually anywhere on the exterior of the car). I have found that it also helps in towns and built up areas where you can lose reception for a minute or two. It is supplied with more than enough cable to fit it virtually anywhere on the vehicle, however this does cause the problem of what you do with the excess cable (along with the cables already going to the power source). This can lead to a mess of cables trailing the dashboard. A permanent solution to this is difficult given the fact that it is not advisable to permanantly position a Tom Tom because of the rise in car crime. These minor problems aside I would highly recommend ...

Review of TomTom GO External Antenna GPS aerial

Spice up your Sat Nav

Advantages: Improves reception, loading time is dramatically reduced, Much better accuracy
Disadvantages: plating is wearing off the connector

and finally brought forward to the dashboard with a couple of feet to spare. The antenna itself is a small plastic box with a strong magnet on the bottom, so theer is no fixing to worry about. I plugged the lead into the Sat Nav and switched on. In a couple of seconds it was displaying "Ready to Navigate" Since then, about 10 days ago, I have covered over 2,000 miles and have not lost reception once, including the wooded section of the A350 just north of Shaftesbury in Dorset, where I always lost signal for about 2 miles. I have noticed some of the plating wearing off the plug, exposing bare plastic. This is because It is not a good idea to leave the SAT NAV in the car when parked, so I have to take the cable out if I park somewhere dodgy, like city centres. I must say that this does not appear to have affected performance. It ...

Review of GARMIN GA 25MCX GPS aerial

'Aerial' Soars, Ever So Gently

Advantages: More settled, mature but still with the interesting quirks in music and words.
Disadvantages: 'Mrs Bartolozzi'; 'Nocturn'. Nothing like 'Hounds' or 'Dreaming'; light jazz elements, for some.

So, was it worth the wait? With 'Aerial', the hotly anticipated new double-CD album of the British maverick and publicity-shy musician, Kate Bush once again surprises her listeners, for ill or good. A dozen years sans any new Bush album since 'The Red Shoes' would be the longest dry spell for fans, and the occasion of 'Aerial''s release has been warmly celebrated, especially on the other side of the Atlantic. I shan't dwell on Ms Bush's personal events between 1993's 'The Red Shoes' and 'Aerial', which finally went on sale on 7 November 2005. Suffice it to say that Ms Bush's son, Bertie, was born in the interim, a fact you can't miss since he's featured prominently on her latest CD production through his drawings, photographs and a song. 'Aerial' consists of 16 tracks on two CDs that sonically share a close kinship with 'The ...
