Absolutely brilliant mouse, wouldn't be without it Advantages: Great for RSI prevention at the wrist, very easy to use and lots of features Disadvantages: Can be difficult to get the hang of initially (be patient!), uses batteries I have used this mouse pretty much since they came out - having been a physiotherapist myself I am all too aware of the risk of RSI, and I use computers an awful lot (I now work in IT, so 9 hours a day at work and at least 3-6+ hours at home) and have this mouse both at work and at home. The mouse itself does not move, it sits on your desk (therefore no need for wearing a hole in the desk or using a mousemat) and "talks" to your computer via a rounded ... ...in line of sight, I have mine sitting behind my keyboard and on top of my montior at work and home respectively and never have any problems with signal strength. Be aware that it will take you a week or so to get used to using this mouse, particularly if you've never used a trackball before. Major advantage is other people won't be as likely to use your machine unless they too like/use trackballs!!!!! Logitech Trackball Advantages: Ergonomic, easy to use, reduces strain on wrist Disadvantages: Only suitable for right-handed, no extra buttons I originally got the logitech trackman wheel to relieve the pain in my wrist (from using a mouse too often) as the only part that needs moving is the thumb. I've got to say it really helped. It is much more relaxing to use than a standard mouse - the trackball is actually very smooth. It did take a couple of days to get used to and get a feel for it but in the end it was definitely worth it. Much easier to use than a normal mouse. Advantages: Easy to use, faster, more comfortable, much better for gameplay. Disadvantages: Lack of extra function buttons that you might expect from a more expensive mouse. I bought one of these about a year ago, it was a little hard to get used to at first as I had been used to a normal mouse, but once I got the hang of it I found it much easier to use. It's very useful for use with laptops on the move as it is easy to use without much room as the mouse does not move, just the ball. I have since purchased a second so now I have one for my laptop and one for my desktop PC. It's also good for gaming, much easier to spin ... ...mouse that requires you to clunk it around to move any distance. I've also found it to be very good for playing World of Warcraft. Only downside I would point out is the fact there are not many extra buttons, you get 2 bound to page up/page down or forward/back on a browser, and nothing else bar the standard right and left click. Love it or hate it.... Advantages: No need to move arm around, so less RSI Disadvantages: Less accurate I got a Logitech Trackman Marble wheel from my father. Initially I was quite enthousiastic about the prospect of reducing my potential for RSI. The device feels solid, with a smooth surface. My version is the right hand version. Movement of the cursor is performed by roling the ball with your thumb. There are two buttons, and a scroll wheel as on most modern mice. After test driving it for a while I noticed my initial enthousiasm being replaced ... ...the way and bought a MS wireless optical desktop pro. My Logitech TrackMan will be on E-bay soon.... To be fair, I have heared many people being very enthousiastic about the TrackMan, particularly RSI sufferers at work, but it is just not for me. Love it or hate it.... ... Inuendo central for the cordless Logitech Trackman Wheel mouse! Advantages: wireless, accurate, comfortable, and durable Disadvantages: doesnt like super super fine work, gets tacky quite quickly Balls are back! and there is far less hand gymnastics required with this excellent mouse without a tail!
