Much easier to use than a normal mouse.
Review of Logitech Marble Mouse - trackball by yendoepics

Advantages: Easy to use, faster, more comfortable, much better for gameplay.
Disadvantages: Lack of extra function buttons that you might expect from a more expensive mouse.

I bought one of these about a year ago, it was a little hard to get used to at first as I had been used to a normal mouse, but once I got the hang of it I found it much easier to use. It's very useful for use with laptops on the move as it is easy to use without much room as the mouse does not move, just the ball. I have since purchased a second so now I have one for my laptop and one for my desktop PC. It's also good for gaming, much easier to spin ...
...mouse that requires you to clunk it around to move any distance. I've also found it to be very good for playing World of Warcraft. Only downside I would point out is the fact there are not many extra buttons, you get 2 bound to page up/page down or forward/back on a browser, and nothing else bar the standard right and left click. Could cause problems if you are used to using many buttons on a mouse, such as when gaming, but I would much rather have ... Read review

Logitech Trackball
Review of Logitech Trackman Wheel - trackball by no.recoil

Advantages: Ergonomic, easy to use, reduces strain on wrist
Disadvantages: Only suitable for right-handed, no extra buttons

I originally got the logitech trackman wheel to relieve the pain in my wrist (from using a mouse too often) as the only part that needs moving is the thumb. I've got to say it really helped. It is much more relaxing to use than a standard mouse - the trackball is actually very smooth. It did take a couple of days to get used to and get a feel for it but in the end it was definitely worth it. Regarding accuracy, I wouldn't use it to play FPS but ... Read review

Absolutely brilliant mouse, wouldn't be without it
Review of Logitech Cordless TrackMan Optical - trackball by waterbaby999

Advantages: Great for RSI prevention at the wrist, very easy to use and lots of features
Disadvantages: Can be difficult to get the hang of initially (be patient!), uses batteries

I have used this mouse pretty much since they came out - having been a physiotherapist myself I am all too aware of the risk of RSI, and I use computers an awful lot (I now work in IT, so 9 hours a day at work and at least 3-6+ hours at home) and have this mouse both at work and at home. The mouse itself does not move, it sits on your desk (therefore no need for wearing a hole in the desk or using a mousemat) and "talks" to your computer via a rounded ...
...in line of sight, I have mine sitting behind my keyboard and on top of my montior at work and home respectively and never have any problems with signal strength. Be aware that it will take you a week or so to get used to using this mouse, particularly if you've never used a trackball before. Major advantage is other people won't be as likely to use your machine unless they too like/use trackballs!!!!! I certainly would never go back to using a ... Read review

To track or not to track!
Review of Logitech Trackman Marble Wheel - trackball by omendata

Advantages: Reduced risk of RSI , Quicker than a mouse and better for games!
Disadvantages: Not as accurate in Graphics packages such as Photoshop , Paintshop pro!

...ago and its called the Logitech Trackman Marble - I've had mine for7 years now and I have never had a problem with it yet so that says a lot for its sturdiness and electrical reliability - I havent had a conventional mouse last for more than 3 years tops! If you havent tried one yet - go out, buy it , stay with it for a couple of weeks and you'll never use anything but a trackball in future believe me! Ive tried many trackballs but if you want ... My favorite trackball/mouse/etc ever
Review of Logitech Trackman Cordless Wheel - trackball by phalangid

Advantages: Ergonomic, control of pointer, battery life
Disadvantages: Takes a week to get used to

This is probably my favorite purchase for my computer 'stuff' collection! I started using a cordED version of this thing 10 years ago or so at work, got one for myself, and after it died (was in use for 5 years, which is fair in my mind) I got the cordless version listed here. I love this thing, and here are some details on why: Ergonomics - I think this thing is really good to reduce strain on your wrist, and after a week or two getting used to ...
...to move the trackball, it's so easy to work with. Detail on screen - at least for me, it's really easy to get exactly what I want to click on, easier than with a mouse! I know one reviewer doesn't like this for gaming... I love it for gaming! I do 1st person shooters a lot (i.e. HalfLife, etc.) and it works like a dream. Software - this thing works if you just plug it in on an XP machine (probably Vista, too) but the additional software makes it ... Read review
