Review of Awight Now: Setting the Record Straight - Michael Barrymore by  brockysbird

Advantages: great read an absolute must have
Disadvantages: none

...I purchased this book in November of 2006 from Asda at the price of £9.96, I loved Michael Barrymore in Big Brother and that is the reason why I opted for this book! (He should have won!!!!) Michael was once one of britans favorite entertainers; he regularly appeared on TV and was loved by the public for being so funny and so unique. We first saw Michael in 1975 when he won the talent show 'New faces' from then on he became a familiar and loved TV star, the ratings on his shows were massive His shows included Barrymore Strike it lucky My kind of people My kind of music And kids say the funniest things Michael Barrymore also won 13 national TV awards including best entertainment show, most popular comedy performer and even a special recognition award ...with a raft of other awards Despite all of his success he got heavily into drink... A Cultural Epitaph
Review of Viz Comic - Viz by  matt1979

Advantages: Very, Very funny
Disadvantages: Repetitive and a tad on the dirty side

...much opportunity for the cartoon to rip into your Michael Barrymores, your Jim Davidsons and your Gary Bushells meaning the jokes pretty much keep generating themselves. Roger Mellie is so popular he is now a brand of his own with his own set of Roger’s Profanisaurus books with updates in magazines. Such creative use of colourful language is just fantastic to read. A typical extract from said publication: Chef’s special sauce n, spunk - ‘Here is your steak, Mr Winner, and chef wants you to know that he enjoys your Esure adverts so much, he’s put you an extra helping of his special sauce on there’. Fat Slags The basis of a movie that’s just come out –a pretty crap one by the looks of things- its maybe best not to take that as a fair reflection on the characters. Although they are by no means my... Read review

Heartwrenching yet heartwarming
Review of Little Girl Lost - Drew Barrymore by  EmmaRen

Advantages: Hard-hitting, real life drama...
Disadvantages: The book ends too soon!

...Never before have I read as powerful a book as Little Girl Lost... It follows Drew Barrymore’s rise to stardom, and her fall into alcohol and drug abuse. Learn all about the tumultuous years she spent hiding her addictions from her mother, and realise just how abandoned little Drew really felt. No holds are barred in this hard-hitting tale; it’s told just as it is, from the perspectives of both Drew and her mother. I strongly recommend this book of only £5.99 to any Barrymore fan, or anyone who has gone through a similar time themselves.... Read review
