...I got a Mico Diamante 3000 DVD player about 3 months ago and since I got it for £60 I have never though once about taking it back and I absolutlely love it. The DVD player has no problems playing any DVD disc and the machine comes with a easy to use remote control with all the standard controls and extra ones. The player supports many formats inclusing DVD-R/CD-RW and JPEG cd's and this is great. The thing that I must love about the DVD player is that it has a 64x search both in rewind and fast forward, which as I know of, is the only DVD player that has this speed. The DVD player has lots of features including an easy selector buttons and enter buttons, an A-B repeat system where you can replay a certain part of a film over and over again, there are easy menu buttons and a 4x zoom and 4x slow motion. ...The Mico R311 is just the best DVD recorder I know of. It is very easy to use with on screen display and the children find it no problem. The pictured index feature is excellent and the system has five different quality recording modes. The highest quality recording mode is very similar in picture quality to the lowest quality setting. The recorded picture and sound are as good as the original. The SCART in socket and audio & video jacks allow you to connect video players and camcorders to it to record you favorite items straight onto DVD. The system is very quiet when in operation and runs very cool. The option to have a low power display when off is a neat feature which limits the lights being emmitted from the player when not in use.... Read review

Advantages: Divx Player, cheap, stylish
Disadvantages: No firmware upgrades

...I recently purchased the Mico 808D DVD player from Sainsburys for the bargain price of £39.99. Granted when it comes to cheap DVD players there are cheaper out there. However they usually don't play Divx movies. For those not in the know, a Divx film is one that can easily be downloaded using a Peer to Peer file sharing tool such as Kazaa. You can download and watch films before they even reach the cinema and they are mostly DVD quality. However you do not need a DVD writer as the file size of a Divx movie is just the right size to fit on a CD. This is why you need a DivX DVD player to play them as they are essentially Avi/MPG files on CD. The Mico 808D is a silver, slimline and has a mirror finished front and really looks the part. When you open the CD drawer you can instantly tell that it is not a top of the range DVD player... Read review
