...reason for AMD. The Celeron of Intel for example is about just as expensive, brings however less achievement.
Result: The AMD Duron is a very inexpensive processor, which is meant for people, which want to spend fewer moneys on a computer. Bench mark The AMD Duron processor I with the bench mark and diagnosis program
SiSoft Sandra tested. With this program one can compare among other things its processor with differently different CPUs. I came to the result that the AMD Duron is so bad not at all. It is just as well as a Athlon with clock frequency. It gives itself the Pentium 4 with 1,6 Ghz. also only completely more struck. In points expressed that 1612 for the Duron and the 1900 the Pentium 4 would be scarce. On the Internet side of AMD one finds still more exact bench mark test. Among other things there a AMD Duron with a Intel Celeron...

Advantages: Warranty, Easy Install, Very Quick, Inexpensive, Overclockable Disadvantages: Can't think of any
...Score another one for AMD. The new range of winchester chips are outstanding and continue to lead the way in 64bit computer while Intel drag their heels trying to comply with AMD's specs for 64bit processing (simply because microsoft and everyone else aredesigning their 64bit software to AMD's architecture).
I puchased the AMD 3000+ Winchester for socket 939 along with a Gigabyte GA-K8NF-9 motherboard from GladiatorComputers. The processor retails at £109incVAT along with the motherboard retailing at £79.99. And because the board had PCI-Express on it I also got a 6600GT from Gigabyte that retails at £149.95
The processor itself is retail boxed so it comes with a full 3 years AMD warranty and an approved AMD heatsink. It normally used to be that AMD produced pretty poor heatsinks but there are fantasic, great cooling (as you...

Advantages: Full Speed AGP and PCI-Express 16 Graphics, Great Upgrade Path, Stable System Disadvantages: None - As yet
...ASRock 939Dual-SATA2 - AGP and PCI-Express Graphics
I have had the motherboard for 6 months now and I have been very pleased with the motherboard.
The chipset used on the board is the ULi M1695. The chipset is the only one currently on the market that allows the use of both AGP and/or PCI-Express graphic cards for the AMD Socket 939 CPU's.
The board gave me an upgrade path that I have fully used.
When I bought the board I had a Nvidia 6800GT AGP graphics card, I couldn't afford to upgrade that aspect when I was also buying a Athlon 64 939 Chip (3700+) and a motherboard,
Since then I have purchased a PCI-Express 16 Nvidia 7800GT. The new graphics card went into the board with no issues.
The only negatives I would give to this board was the lack of a firewire port and lack of gigabit internet but as I paid £55 for the board you can...
