...FLOPPYDISK
A very good device to save some of your stuff. 1.44mb is not much of a very big space. It is not worth it but the price you pay is comparatively small. There are more devices like USB and Mp3 players which costs just bit more and gives more space.
To be precise in 1.44mb you can just save about ONE or two JPG image. if u need something to save your project in or which you might need for long it is not worth it. it is worth for some one who just wants to save some word documents.
The another disadvantage which is kind of a major one is that the laptops don't have a floppydrive built in. You need an external Floppydrive to make this thing work in the laptop.
Hope this is useful....

Advantages: I Get Them For Free Disadvantages: Low Storage, Easily Lost
...packs as this means that you can have 14.4mb of data in your pocket. This does not sound much but when lifting text files of data off machines on a Factory floor the amount of data that can be stored on them is quite large. They also have the advantage that you can easily wipe the data once you have finished with it and use the disk again. Rewriteable CD drives are not common place on shop floors and are not likley to be.
Why do I use Maxell MF2HD's?, quite simple really the relaibility of floppydisks is quite high irrespective of who manufactures them as they are a proven technology.
At the end of the day it is down to which variety your employer stocks and most of mine have stocked these ones. You can pick up a packet for around about 2 quid, less if you buy in bulk from an office supplier.

Advantages: plug in and use Disadvantages: none so far
...Having recently had my computer pack up on me whilst moving house I decided to go out and get a new all singing all dancing one to replace it. What I did not even think of checking out as did it have a floppydrive on it! And of cours like a lot of modern machines it did not. Well I only use the floppy to back up my accounts and take them to the accountant so he can do my year end, which i had done on the old machine so when the disk came back there was a big problem so I sent for one of these drives as i did not want to open the case and start poking about. Talk about easy I plugged it into the usb and away windows xp whent and installed it and allocated it drive a so it worked with my trusty old accounts program with no messing about. compared to the fixed drive on my old computer i find it a bit slow but so far very reliable...
