On Tuesday 18/11/08 at 17:00 I called sales who confirmed availability of two "HP ProLiant ML110 ServerIntel Xeon 3065 (2330/1333-4Mb) Dual Core 1Gb 250Gb Non Plug SATA DVDR/RW 4U micro ATX tower (3 year next business day warranty)" Manufacturers Code - 455948-035 Microdirect Code - S020330. Sales also confirmed that an order placed before 17:45 could be delivered next day.
At 17:15 I placed an order for this item with a premium pre 10:30am delivery. I then called sales who confirmed that payment had been authorised and that the item would be shipped. The agent confirmed all of this with a sales manager.
On wednesday 19/11/08 at 10:00am I rang sales to confirm dispatch and was told that the item had not been sent but that it would definately arrive the following morning, your representative apologised and offered to refund the delivery charge.
On Wednesday 19/11/08 at 17:00 I rang sales to confirm disptach and was kept waiting for several minutes and then told that the item could not be found in the warehouse and was no longer available.
At all times I made it clear that this was an urgent order and that pre 10:30am delivery was essential.
I am very upset that their staff failed on several accounts -
promises were made that could not be fulfilled
the stock database was inaccurate
a failure to quickly identify a stock shortage
a failure to quickly respond to the stock shortage
a complete failure to keep me informed of progress
This incident has caused me some serious inconvenience and I have been forced to use an alternative supplier. Microdirect have failed to identify and rectify these failures in their systems and processes. I will not attempt to purchase from Microdirect again.
