Medium is an American Emmy winning drama about a woman with psychic powers called Alison Du Bois, brilliantly played by Patricia Arquette.
I think that the term medium in the sense of this programme is incorrect as mediums are usually seen as Derek Acccorah TV types, or funny old woman at fun fairs.
Alison Du Bois breaks away from this stereo type. She is married to Joe a aerospace engineer and they have three children, Arial, Bridgette and Marie. the normal family problems etc are shown but they also deal with 'strange' problems.
Alison has dreams which come true, she gets messages from beyond the grave and also dreams of past events from other peoples lives. I first managed to catch this show on BBC2 late one evening. I had read about it in the TV guide, saying it was a new show about psychics starring the American actress Patricia Arquette. It didn't really sound like my cup of tea but there was nothing else on so I thought I would give it a go, and I am glad I did.
Medium is about, funnily enough, a Medium. The character who Patricia Arquette plays is called Allison DuBois, a lady who has dreams and visions about crimes of all sorts. She is married to Joe and they have 3 daughter Ariel, Bridgette, and Marie. Allison was training to be an attorney when she realises that she was having visions about a case she was studying, and it turned out that she was having visions about the crime and it's perpertrators.
