WHAT IS IT?
This product is customizable trip planning software with an included GPS system reciever. All the now normall features for a standard GPS package are included such as Voice Prompted Directions so you can be told exsacly what to do and other features such as favorite settings etc.
This package seems to me as if it was designed to replace the need for a GPS however as i will come to later it does not seem to fill all recuirements that it should. In my opinion this package is fairly good for someone looking to travel europe and not wanting to spend mega bucks on a new gps, But for everyone else this product falls short.
DID I LIKE IT?
To answer my own question. No i did not like this product. Altho this product in many ways does pretty much what it should in many other ways it does not. Now on to my main gripe with this system, and that issue came when i took a wrong turning when i was testing this system on my way to a resturant in Cardiff. Driving to the outskirts of the welsh capital where the restaurant is located was something i had not done in a while and thus i made a wrong turn. I bet your thinking lucky i had this system to get me back on track yes? well no, There was no help. When i made the wrong turning i was informed of my mistake ( quite polietly i might add ). However the software did not give me any instructions of what to do next. So there i was, someone who normally relies on his GPS constantly, lost on the outskirts of Cardiff. Luckily i new enough to get me back on track, but with this modern GPS system i would of exspected some help.
I did find the route planner on the software very user friendly, However the planner is no different from the thousands of other route planners availiable on the internet for free.
Another problem i found with the system was that the alerts that tell you when to turn to not tell you as near to the turnings as they should. This especially becomes a problem on motorways.
CONCLUSIONS?
Instead of buying this system i would save up a little more perhaps for a TOMTOM GPS. I have had no problems with these systems in the past and i feel i wasted my money buying this 'alternative' to a GPS.
Good review. I have used a very much earlier version of this but I always check an OS map as well. John

clearly a good review and just needs spell checking. I use word processor to write my reviews and then copy and paste them into the ciao thingy because Im crud at spelling. ALso if the ciao gremlins put in an appearance, Ive got a back up copy of my reviews incase one of them gets deleted again!!!
