Hi all! and welcome to this review
As a student Pilot I really needed something Cheap, Realistic and Entertaining to help me with my Flying. Obviously its very expensive going up in a real aircraft and I needed something to provide me with all the extra information I need and This simulator ticks every box!
So whats the price? I paid 49 Pounds in Game.
The Microsoft Flight simulator range has been designed mainly for pilots / Retired pilots to welll...... Pretend they are really flying I guess? and mainly for help with real life flying.
This game... Well I cannot call it a game, more of a simulator as games are usually just for fun but this is educational and fun at the same time!
So what does Flight Simulator do? Flight simulator has pretty much every airport in the world in its directory aswell as every Plane with full cockpit and functions - As Microsoft say; Just like the real thing - And they are not lying!
The graphics on this simulator are absolutely amazing, while im pretending to fly I can see my house and all other places in the world!
Flight simulator X is the latest version, there is now a new add on avalable called Acceleration.
The flight simulator has an area that is made especially for trainee pilots. They have missions, all the flying lessons that exsist in real life teaching and ofcourse a fake Test! To get you ready for the all important real world test.
All lessons are done with an automated voice in what looks like and feels like a real plane. A true quality simulation.
There are many add on's available for the game, whether you want to fly a different plane, add new missions or fancy a change in scenery there is something for you.
Just jump in the plane, taxi through the real life airports with atc ( Air Traffic Control ) take off on a real life runway, see birds in the air ------ Land in New Zealand if you want...... Everything is on this simulator!
If you want to get this simulator I would Highly recommend getting a Joystick, Its no fun at all flying using the keyboard and that way its not at all realistic ***What Pilot Flies With A Keyboard??*** Hopefully none! lol
One Problemm... You must have quite a powerful computer to run Flight sim, On Mid settings you will require at least a gig of Ram and a 2GH processor to be safe.
It really is great, if you are a fan of aviation or a trainee Pilot then GET THIS! It really is worth it, I FLEW (haha) through my training because of this software.

Review of Microsoft Flight Simulator X: Deluxe Edition (PC)
Advantages: Great graphics Disadvantages: need a very good pc to see them
...the performance of pc’s expanded Microsoft was always there with a new flight simulator.
The first thing that I shall look at is the installation, as games get bigger it takes longer to get set up. For me it took over an hour plus the time to defrag the hard drive after. The install process itself was quite simple and very easy to understand, activation was quick and painless and then I was on my way.
The box told all about the great features ... ...It didn’t work, as the joystick has to be set up. This is fairly annoying for a flight sim not to have even basic joystick settings like 2004. Another thing I will point out now is that if your pc isn’t that great chances are it will be an awful experience. This is a game best played on a high end pc and when you do the result is breathtaking.
The actual flying is not too different than 2004 but the visual cockpit and views are better. There are ...

Advantages: Excelent graphics, sound, multiplayer function and easy to use for beginners Disadvantages: High spec PC needed to get the best performance.
...have had all of the Microsoft Flight Sim releases since FS5. After a 30min+ installation time I managed to get my first chance to take to the sky. At first I was little impressed with the graphics and the scenery on my first flight. The frames were jerky and the aircraft and screen movements took about 4 seconds to respond to the movements of the joystick. I have a 2.8GHz processor, 526mb DDR memory and Direct x9 installed. I was not happy and was ... ...Vista is released. However I persisted with FSX and tweaked my FSX settings more towards the left of the sliders and now I am running on very basic scenery and textures but it runs smooth and jerk free. At the moment I can't really comment on the scenery as you will need Direct x10, Windows Vista and a whole load of memory at least 1GHz recommended and a decent graphics card! However I have completed about 17 of the 52 missions and I am now impressed. ...

Advantages: Graphics, Addictivness, Easily playable for begineers Disadvantages: Need a powerfull machine to get the best from it
Wow, what a game. After my inital 20 minute install and several cups of coffee while i waited I was not dissappointed with the end result. I have a fairly powerfull machine (A pentium dual core 2.9 ghz processor with 1gb ram and 512mb geforce graphics) and the graphics a gameplay do not fail to dissappoint. In saying this the level of detail is still not turned onto maximum so i have reduced airtraffic and some anti-alias settings turned off. Even ... ...a fan of flight sims but the control systems are someties tiresome, not in this case, they are easy to grasp and the maual explains all well, with some good intoduction training lessons for the flight sim beginner. The deluxe edition is a must as it has additional aircraft and the cities are more detaild, although this is only noticable if you are running a powerfull machine.
The structured missions (65 of them) are a good basis to start from and ...

Advantages: Amazing Graphics & Sound, Fantastic Missions Disadvantages: Only 2 Activations, Needs A Good PC
You shouldn't be sitting there reading this - You should be out buying Flight Sim X Now! It's been long awaited, and is finally here! Trust me, you won't be let down! Flight Simulator X combines amazing detail with fantastic sound and ease of use for any user. If you've never played flight sim before, it won't take you long to get used to it. You start with 'beginner' missions explaining how to taxi and maneuver your plane around the field. You'll ... ...experience Air Traffic Control and having to control your aircraft around other planes. Once you've got the hang of it, you can try your best at some of the other (nearly 60) missions, ranging from flying through hoops to rescuing people an exploding oil rig. Throughout the missions, your radio communications are handled by your co-pilot, while you fly the plane. But it's not just about missions! You can choose to fly whatever route you like, from ...

Advantages: amazing detail and graphics, very realistic too Disadvantages: powerfull and fast PC needed to enjoy the full potentiol of the game
Brilliant game, graphics are unbelievable and the realism is spot on too. ive recently ventured onto the multiplayer part fo the game and wow its a big community out there. you can communicate to other players around the world acting as other aircraft or even ATC (air traffic controll) Providing you buy the acceleration add-on i would say theres a fair choice of aircraft. i can only think of one dissadvantage and as you will read on other reviews, ... ...full potential of the graphics and detail is almost impossible. sure you can set every thing to the highest levels of detail, etc, but it dramaticly slows the game down to frustrating speeds. i recormend if you wish to have the full experiance, make sure you have a powerfull PC with at least 2GB of ram and a intel Core 2 duo proccessor. besides that its a very good game and brilliant for practicing pilots from the real aviation industry. ...

Manufacturer's product description
In a nutshell:Microsoft's original civilian flight sim is still clocking up the air miles with the most significant sequel for years and a genuine attempt to make it more accessible for non-propellerheads.The lowdown:While almost all other flight simulators have fallen from grace on the PC, Microsoft have never given up on the genre with a game that's as ruthlessly realistic as it is completely free of any kind of violence. Every major, and minor, airport in the world is simulated and every major city has its share of recognisable landmarks, allowing you to fly anywhere in the world. There's a huge range of different aircraft to fly too: from jumbo jets and seaplanes to helicopters and everything in between. The only problem is that the game needs a seriously powerful PC to run at full whack, but even on lower detail levels this is still a stunning achievement. Most exciting moment:Despite the realism, the game isn't all dry simulation. There are a lot of fun missions to try out, including acting as a Hollywood stuntman, going on search and rescue flights, fighting fires and even flying over the infamous Area 51.Since you ask:The deluxe version of the game includes more cities, airports and aircraft as a well as an extra series of twenty-odd missions. There are also some additional multiplayer options, including the chance to share aircraft and have a go in the control tower. The bottom line:The most realistic commercial flight sim ever. Again.-HARRISON DENT From award winning game developer ACES comes Flight Simulator X.The latest installment will include the usual genre leading realismthat continues to awe real pilots and will serve as the graphicalbenchmark for games on Windows Vista.
