I ordered this mouse online for £22, opened the box and inside was a basic instruction booklet, a cd with the intellimouse drivers on (to fiddle with things like what you want the side buttons to... more

Advantages Advantages Stylish,Hardy,Comfortable,Smooth and easy to use

Disadvantages Disadvantages Rubber bits on the bottom get dirty

Being a self confessed sucker for anything gadget’y or with flashy lights, I found myself browsing a well-known computer store searching for the perfect mouse. Now this may sound like an easy task especially with a computer shop of this size and stock levels, but trust me its not. There are literally hundreds of mice out there, picking the right one takes both experience and a keen eye for design. If the mouse is to small it’s hard to use and your fingers drag along the mouse mat making it more like a shrew than a mouse. Too big and gadget’y and you have the extra ... more

Advantages Advantages No ball so clean, responsive, fast, precise, extra buttons that can be assigned different tasks.

Disadvantages Disadvantages Restricted by a wire!

I HAVE A MOUSE WITH NO BALLS. No I am not being rude and don’t ring the R.S.P.C.A. I am on about the most accurate, maintenance free mice you can buy at a reasonable price. After soooooo many problems with my last new mouse I decided to try the well know and sometimes trusted brand that is Microsoft. In another opinion on mice I wrote about the Packard Bell Cordless Mouse, in the General Mice and Trackball section. I will be updating this shortly. Over a month ago my old mouse, which I have had for about six years finally started to go wrong. The left button stopped working correctly and it ... more

Advantages Advantages Highly customisable and best of all it has a shiny red light! Yay!

Disadvantages Disadvantages More complicated than most people need

When I first got my fabulous new does-everything-including-feed-the-parrot computer I was a little put out to find that attached to the mouse port was a rather clumpy mouse coloured brick. I could not get used to this thing as hard as I tried, and so off I went armed with my student loan cheque, and hit the computer shops of Canterbury. Ok, as there are only about two it didn't take me too long, but I was amazed at the array of mouseware you can buy. It was a very hard decision to make-did I want one with one button, two buttons, 50 buttons, a wheel, no wheel, a reallllly big wheel, blue ... more

Advantages Advantages no mouse ball means no fluff, as good as normal mouse

    Disadvantages Disadvantages none

Well if you purchase yourself one of Microsoft's new optical mice, then the answer is yes. Gone are the days when you spent 10 minutes with a small screw driver trying to get rid of the fluff and gunk that has magically appeared from your imaculatly clean mouse mat! You could say that this is the most important development in mouse technology, since the mouse was first incepted, but then that would be over the top, a bit! ** Features ** There are several feature of this new mouse, the most important being the "IntelliEye" optical sensor which makes your mouse work. This nifty piece of kit ... more

Advantages Advantages Very accurate. Usable in both hands. Good software. Good build quality

Disadvantages Disadvantages Tweaking needed if you run WinME. Price?

The latest addition to my increasingly Microsoft orientated PC (i love hating them, but they do have good stuff every now and then) was the Intellimouse Optical. Its pretty much the next step (dare i say?) forward in terms of their intellimouse range. For starters, it comes as a USB mouse. Fear not though, mine came with a very nifty USB to PS/2 transformer, that you can whack onto the mouse so that you can plug it into the normal mouse socket if you dont have USB ports, or if you dont have any free. Technically, putting it in the USB port would give you better control over the mouse, as the ... more
