Microsoft LifeCam VX-7000

Advantages: Works on Vista, Good clarity
Disadvantages: Driver disc supplied wont run under Vista

...My only piece of non Dell PC kit. This webcam is excellent for the price, good picture quality and the built in Mic is responsive. Brilliant for all Instant messengers and VOIP. It is also nice to have a black webcam. I know that sounds silly but most PC's these days have black on them some where so it helps towards unity. The only minor issue with this product is that the supplied Driver disc wont install on Windows Vista. Instead you are directed to a download link where you can download the appropriate driver. I found this odd as it being a Microsoft product and a fairly new one to. The funny thing is it says on the box Windows Vista certified. A bit inacurrate considering the supplied driver disc wont run.... Read review

...This is one of the best web cams i have purchased. The pictures are really clear no matter what lighting i am using. The simple click switch on the top makes it easy to get into video calling which i really couldn't live without. Not too bulky it fits nicely on top of any slimline monitor. or can stand freely on any surface. The cam can be moved to any angle without falling over whenever I try to move it as thats what i used to find with my previous logitech one. I would recommend this product to any buyer because it's simple to set up and functions are easy to use. As of yet i do not have any problems with this product and I've had it just over 3 months.... ...This little webcam is a very good office / general home use webcam, not only does it have very good picture quality but you can also manually focus by twising the lens itself. The camera itself is 1.3 megapixels which gives a clear picture which can offer a very attractive output and along with settings you can change in MSN for instance you can create a rustique look by making it look grainy, black and white for that old field of simply tweak the settings for your desired effect. The video and mic function is very useful espcially if you want a cheap solution to making video blogs/ youtube entries for example as the video itself has a fairly reasonable resoulution of 640x 480 @30fps which is a fairly smooth.
