Professional Toolset
It's probably best to say what major components you get with the pro version of Visual Studio 2005. You get VC++, C#, VB and VJ# along with appropriate forms editors complete with mobile support, code snippets, database tools and designers. You also get editor support for XML and XSLT, release versions of all the x64bit compilers (although for Itanium support you'll need to go for the Team System version), SQL Server Reporting Services as well as Crystal Reports and the developer version of SQL Server2005. There are a lot of people in this world who hate Microsoft and its products. I am certainly not one of these people! There isn't one friend I know who works in an office and doesn't use word and excel on a daily basis! I know I do! I've been consistently impressed by the different versions of windows over the years, and this, one of their newest offerings, Windows Media Center Edition (MCE) is no exception. PC's are getting more and more user friendly aren't they? My nana (75 years old) took a night class in computers, and now she emails me! Well, MCE takes user friendly PC's to a new level.
Wouldn't it be cool if your PC could play DVD's, could display live TV and record it to the hard drive, pause and rewind live TV, schedule recordings from the TV guide? Wouldn't it be cool if your PC could store and display...

...I have just been shown Microsoft’s newest version of ‘Office’ – Office XP which will be released to the general public on May 31st 2001. The XP stands for eXPerience, or so we were told. Cheesiness aside, it all looked rather good.
This opinion is written for people with a working knowledge of Office already, as if I described the Office suite and also said what’s new in XP you would still be reading at Christmas!

Firstly, they have been rather clever in the anti-piracy stakes. As you purchase your Officepackage, install it on your PC, you then need to ‘activate’ it.
