Microsoft Office has always been an essential piece of kit for any business or individual who works on his computer. Since Windows 95 when office really took off, users all of the world trust it for keeping track of their finances with Excel, for word processing with word or for creating great presentation with PowerPoint. But Microsoft Office can be used for a whole lot more. I use Office as an email client using Outlook. Each of these packages are good by themselves but together they are extremely efficient and can save you a lot of time and in business time is money.
There are many packages on this one disc, so I will highlight the main ones.
Microsoft Word
For anybody who types up documents on their pc or just writes notes, Word is absolutely essential. The documents that you create using Word are professional and most importantly technically accurate. If you are like me, then you often make mistakes in rushed typing or maybe you’re not a great speller. Word analyses your sentences to make sure your spelling and grammar is correct and notifies you if you have made a mistake. With the office 2007 this has been improved and the system will now tell you if you have entered the wrong word in a sentence. Most word processors can’t do this. Even this review was typed using Word.
Microsoft Excel
This is essential for looking after your money whether it’s just you or a large international corporation. In this economical climate, it is extremely important to monitor your financial status. Excel helps the user create professional spreadsheets which can be used in a number of ways. This package has many advanced features but can still be used by beginners.
Microsoft Access
This package creates database that many businesses would find very useful for storing records or for data mining. Access can be combined with other packages for many tasks e.g.: mail merge or web applications. An individual user could also use this but this is really for the big companies.
Microsoft PowerPoint
Do you often need to give presentations to people, whether it’s a small group or a large audience, PowerPoint can help you make your presentation a great success. With many customisable options, you can create the best slideshow to fit the situation. Also you can send your PowerPoint to others, for discussion or help.
Microsoft Outlook
There are many Email clients out there, for many companies. But Outlook has always been the best, because of its many features and extras. Also because it is so user friendly, anyone could use it. Outlook can be used on a server, on a single computer or it can connect to online email sites, like Gmail, AOL, yahoo, hotmail and all other major ones.

This is a great product with many packages. All of these packages are useful to any business or individual no matter what your work or industry. The only problem is the cost which is very high but for what it does, it’s worth it. Also if you are thinking of buying this product, you might want to ask others who have it, to see what they think.
