I upgraded from Office 2003 to Office 2007 and found that Office 2007 is different in appearance than Office 2003. No longer will you see the Toolbar as most of us are familiar with. What you see is the Office Button and at six tabs to use.
Personally, it took me some time to get acquainted with the new interface that contains tabs instead of toolbars to click on the different tabs and see different categories to use and to use the dialog box launcher which appears on the right hand corner of some of the sections to work with more features for your tasks. One feature I do like in Office 2007 that is presented in Microsoft Word, Excel, and PowerPoint is the Smart Art Graphic which is located under the Insert tab and listed as the category of Illustrations. As I can recall with the previous versions, you had like six or fewer choices to choose from if you wanted illustrate a diagram. With the Smart Art feature, you are able choose more than the six choices that were in the previous versions.
Other features I like of Office 2007 are the zoom feature in the lower right corner, allowing you to zoom in on your document, spreadsheet, or any other application that you are working with. I like the status bar in which you right click and choose the features you want to appear on the status bar. One of the things I did not like was the fact that when someone sends me a file before I upgraded, it would be very difficult to open up the file because it had a different extension(.xlsx as an example for MS Excel) But of course, Office 2007 gives you the capability to save your data in different formats.
I really did not like Office 2007 and wanted to revert back to Office 2003. Learning Office 2007 took me some time to learn but I was happy that I learned how to use Office 2007 so that I can teach others the new features including the new interface or appearance of Office 2007.
