I have had it for 3 months now, and much prefer it over 2003. The look and feel of office 2007 interface is so much better, with lots of added functions to it. Word has a much easier and more powerful desktop, and excel has a lot more functions such as 3d graphs and charts. It is, if I might be so bold, the most innovative user interface work that Microsoft has ever unleashed.
Advantages: The best thing about Word it of course is the look and extra commands. The keyboard shortcuts remain the same as 2003. PowerPoint is rather disappointing however, because I noticed very little and significant change. Outlook express now has a very different and modern look to it.
Disadvantages: The main disadvantage I can think of is the fact that previous versions of Office cannot recognize the 2007 format, making it not possible to open a file, let say on someone elses computer who has Office 2003 or earlier. However, it is still possible to save the dcuments into 2003 format
If anyone was thinking of purchasing Office 2007, it would have to be for Word and Excel as they are the 2 programmes with the most changes to a better. New header and footers, shapes and charts, theme fonts and print layouts are all the little things that make office a great buy. However, I would recommend going for the cheaper version, especially if you are a home user.
