The Xbox 360 memory unit is a small white 64mb device that plugs into one of 2 dedicated ports on the front of your Xbox 360. The people who are going to get the most out of this little product are the ones whom bought a core system and haven't got a hard drive as this is a cheap way to save your games and profile information.
The other benefits for those with a hard drive are a little more difficult to see initially but this is what i want to write about. I have a premium 360 with a hard drive so i didnt get one immediately but what made me eventually fork out was the fact that i wanted to take my profile to my friends house so we could play sport games against each other.
Those of you with a 360 will know that you have a unique gamertag which has all you preferences and achievements that you have earned saved on it, most 2 player games require you to sign in with a gamertag for each player before you can play so using your own gamer tag makes sense instead of setting up a temporary one, and the only way to take your gamertag with you is with one of these memory units. doing this gives you the benefit of being able to earn achievements on your own tag while playing on a different console, but there are other benefits too.
I discovered one day that the demo pods for the 360 that are in many game and retail stores, have a small port that accept this little memory stick, i hear you say whats the point? Well on these demo pods are little bonus bits and demos for games and they can be downloaded to this unit so you can take them home and use them with your own 360. there are exclusive cars tfor racing games different trailers for games and other little gems that are not available for download over live!!!
i think this little bit of kit is well worth the money as it allows me to do all the above but the main thing for me is having my profile when i play on someone else's 360.
