If you have an xbox 360 i'm pretty sure you have at least tried Xbox Live Gold. If not I'll give you a run through.
Xbox Live is a place where the gaming community can get together. They can play nearly every game online with each other and communicate even if not on the same game. There are two levels of xbox live. Xbox live gold (which averages out to £3.33 a month) and Xbox Live Silver (averages out about 0p a billion years!)
I'll simply give you the differences available: Xbox Gold: You can play online on any game You can download everything from the xbox live marketplace
With silver you can talk to friends, use MSN messenger, download but not play online whenever you want.
Xbox Live has plenty of features I will now tell you what these our.
The Xbox Live Marketplace: The xbox live market place is basicly an online store (like ciao!) you can download game trailers, demos, themes and gamer pictures, exclusive online maps and game expansions. Some of these things cost you with Xbox's very own currency, Microsoft Points. Microsoft points cost you about £16 for 2100 and with them you can change your gamertag name and buy an array of stuff like movies and game content.
Xbox Arcade: The Xbox arcade is a part of the xbox live marketplace they release a game every wednesday and have released some classics like Doom, Worms, Bomberman and rumored to be goldeneye. You can download a trial game of these for free and then buy them using microsoft points.
Xbox Originals: This is a recent feature to the marketplace. It has a limited sock on Xbox 1 games some of these games are Halo: Combat Evolved, Fable, Ninja Gaiden, Black and there are more to come. These cost £9.00 which is the equivalent to 1,200 Microsoft points.
The Xbox Live Video Store: This is another feature from the marketplace, it involves TV shows and amazing movies which are rented for 2 days. You download these and they cost you 240 Microsoft points for the standard definition version and 340 for the High Definition. There is also a preview trailer to see what you might rent.
Online Gaming: Halo 3, Call Of Duty 4, Forza Motorsport 2, Fifa 08, Pro Evolution Soccer 2008, Gears Of War our just a few of many amazing online games. These involve gamers getting together playing competitively or friendly games.
Online Leaderboards: Completed a race in what you thinks the quickest time? Well go check it out using the ingame leaderboards. These can show you who's died how many times how accurate you are how many games you've won and many more!
Xbox Live Gold is defiantly a must for the Xbox 360 system and is what makes it the best online console.
