What are MicroSoft points? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Microsoft Points are the currency of the Xbox Live Marketplace. The points allow users to purchase content without a credit card, and reduce the number of small credit card transaction fees which Microsoft would otherwise pay. Many downloads on the Xbox Live Marketplace are free, but for premium content, such as full versions of arcade games and some types of downloadable content to further the experience of a full fledged title, Microsoft Points must be purchased and redeemed to download a particular piece of content.
Where can you buy Prepaid Cards? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Prepaid cards can be purchased at retail stores for example www.game.co.uk, www.gamestation.co.uk and loads more. These allow individuals who lack a credit card to directly purchase Points using cash or check. This is popular with teens who are not legally able to have a credit card, or in countries where cash transactions are more common, such as Japan.
How many points are included with each purchase and for what price? ~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~~ Each card is worth a certain pre-determined amount of Microsoft Points which can be added to any Xbox Live account using a code located on the card. Cards typically come in denominations of 1600, 2100, or 4000 Points, depending on the country. Once used, cards have no further value and cannot be "recharged" or partially redeemed. The typical price range for Cards of these values are: 1600=$20.00 2100=£17.50 4000=$49.99 Obviously these prices will vary from site to site so to find best deals, compares sites and keep searching! Due to my expierience i have purchased 2100 off ebay for around £14.50 buy it now, this by far is one of the cheapest.
The xbox live market place is a continuously growing virtual market. it is updated almost daily with new content added which can be purchased by these microsoft points.
Gamter tag name changes, images, videos, demos, Arcade games, Game content, Music, Photos, and LOADS more are available to purchase on the market place.
To Sum up Microsoft points ~ This is a great idea which allows more people to purchase what they want instead of needing a credit card. This allows younger gamers to go out and buy points. This can also be seen as safe as you dont need to pass out your credit details and personal information. The brand Microsoft is Trustworthy and INcludes a warrenty. I love using microsoft points as i can purchase addons for my games and new content. The points are so very easy to use, all you do it login live, enter market place and redeem the code on the back of the points card, its that simple, the points are then ready to use there and then. I would CERTAINLY refer people to buying these points
