This book is very well written. It is written by Microsoft Writers Craig Stinson and Carl Siechert which have written many MicrosoftBook which are equally excellent.
The book helps Power Users to do advanced tasks by showing step-to-step guides on how to do things like:
- Managing Users and Groups
- Using Group Policy
- Customizing User Work Environments
- Managing Services
- Administering Remote Service
and many other things that Windows 2000 has to offer. It has detailed information on Disk management in terms of NTFS, Disk maintaince - Scandisk and Defragmentation. It has information on Dual boots, Managing Hardware, Setting up IIS, Managing Networks, Managing Security and much more tasks.
I have used this book alot in relation to working with Windows 2000 and it has helped me to complete tasks that I need to perform ...
I can highly recommend the BIBLE series of computer referencebooks. I own 3: Dreamweaver 2 Bible, Access 97 Bible and Windows 98 Bible. They are all in daily use and are invaluable to me as reference tools. They are normally around the £40 ($50) price but are undoubtedly excellent value for money. Each book usually comes with a CD packed with tutorials, help files, examples and other useful programs. As a learning aid to programs they are brilliant and I believe they are second to none.
The books are published by IDG Books and there are many titles available covering a wide range of topics. With each book containing about 1000 pages you can't fail to find the answers to any queries you have. ...
Advantages: Brilliant graphics, HDMI Output, Excellent Games Library, Xbox Live Disadvantages: Expensive Games, Xbox Live Fee, Lack of Blu-Ray, Hardware Errors
After hearing how good Microsoft's next-gen gaming console was, I decided to invest. And what a good choice that was. I purchased an Xbox 360 Elite last year and how glad I am that I did.
Pro's:
- Powerful graphic engine
- Brilliant display at 1080p Full-HD (HDMI)
- Brilliant line-up of games
- Excellent online (Xbox Live) system
Con's:
- Games pricey at £40-50 each*
- Xbox Live Subscription at £40 per year**
- Lack of a Blu-Ray drive unlike its competitor, Sony PlayStation 3***
- Prone to crashes and hardware errors****
*New games are hard to find at prices lower than £40, which is a lot of money on top of what you pay for the console itself
**Xbox Live is a very good service offering a full friends messaging system and a wide range of services such as Game Demo's and Arcade games but considering the Nintendo Wii ...
