This book is very well written. It is written by Microsoft Writers Craig Stinson and Carl Siechert which have written many Microsoft Book which are equally excellent.
The book helps Power Users to do advanced tasks by showing step-to-step guides on how to do things like:
- Managing Users and Groups - Using Group Policy - Customizing User Work Environments - Managing Services - Administering Remote Service
and many other things that Windows 2000 has to offer. It has detailed information on Disk management in terms of NTFS, Disk maintaince - Scandisk and Defragmentation. It has information on Dual boots, Managing Hardware, Setting up IIS, Managing Networks, Managing Security and much more tasks.
I have used this book alot in relation to working with Windows 2000 and it has helped me to complete tasks that I need to perform. It also includes a CD-ROM of bouns software with Power tools inlcuding Knowledge Base articles and IE and Netmeeting Kits.
Now the price, as most people know Microsoft Books are very heavily priced. This one has 800 pages so its about £34.99. But this book would be a good study guide for those people studying for Microsoft Windows 2000 exams.
A reminder is that this book is for WIndows 2000 Professional and not for any Server Edition of 2000. I would highly recommend this book.
