like Microsoft have taken a few que's from Apple and have added slightly more functionality to make this a comprehensive media hub that can be linked to other computers in your home.
There's a lot to explore and many settings are attainable but only you will find out what is best for you. This could be the ideal solution if you are looking to tidy up your front room so that you can truly entertain and eduacate yourself/family.
I have no hesitations in recommending MediaCenter 2005, especially as you'll have to wait until at least 2007 before the next incarnation of Windows is likely to emerge. You have the option of using the XP Professional interface or the more pleasent MediaCenter one. Don't forget to purchase your MediaCenter 2005 remote and invest in a decent wireless keyboard and mouse.

I purchased this wireless mouse and keyboard set when I got a new computer as I thought it would look smarter and more modern than the wire mouse and keyboard that came with it. I chose this set as I felt that Microsoft had a good reputation and, at £30, this represented good value for money.
This was easy to connect up with the computer, just a simple plug in to the front of the box. That was all that was required to install. The mouse and keyboard each take two batteries. I find that the batteries wear down really quickly. This is frustrating, especially when typing where letters can be missed out in your work, or quite often, the space bar won't function. The batteries in the mouse wear out especially quickly.
Having said that, this is the only flaw I can find with the product. The keyboard is comfortable to type ...

a little too well, because the box became a little damaged while opening it, but that wasn't a major problem.
It cost around £30 from PC World and now that I can actually use it I realise that it's a pretty decent price for a keyboard of this quality.
It's also a good keyboard to use for PC Gamers, which is the main reason I bought it in the first place, along with the gaming mouse.
The only other non-major problem I had with it was the fact that most Microsoftkeyboards nowadays have a slot inside where you can plug USB computer mice, directly into. And this one didn't. Not really a problem, but would have been a nice additional feature.
Overall I'd give this keyboard 4 out of 5 stars. ...
