...be said that the new 2000 MCSE exams have a lot more bite. Frankley this is necessary to stop the qualification from becoming under valued.
Conclusion:
Either do the MCSE the hard way (on the job experience/selftraining) and good luck to you, gold star. Or the Easy way (boot camp/lots of trainingcourses) and go to the bottom of the class....

Advantages: Good for necomers to networking Disadvantages: Spend more time on courses than actually doing the work
...Looking at MCSE from an objective point of view it seems to me that it is really just a licence to print money on Microsofts behalf even if you complete all of the courses in the programme it does not mean that you are a capable network engineer since learning and regurgitating does not give you the expertise to deal with everyday problems. The courses therefore are merely useful if you have no real experience of networking even if you complete them you can guarantee 6 months later you will be back sitting them again because Microsoft has released a new version of its software
It means that you have to resit a course 75% of which you probably already know just to fill Bill Gates back pockets in order to retain your certification. It is money for old rope for Microsoft and the training companies and business is continually having to shell...
