I have owned one of these mice for 4 years now, and have not had a single problem with this. The precision on the movement is perfect.
When using it in USB mode there is no need for additional drivers in Windows XP. When using it in PS2 mode then nothing else is required, even works in DOS. The optical sensor works well on any surface including Knees, bed, table tops, floor, etc.
The only time you encounter problems is when you use it on bright colours and very reflective surfaces. It sometimes makes the mouse pointer jump all around the screen in these situations.
The buttons are nicely designed. It has two main buttons (left and right) with the wheel in the middle. Clicking the wheel down acts as the third button. Having the wheel in the middle makes surfing the internet a simple and enjoyable experience.
The mouse itself is quite large and fits in the hand very well. Its slopes smoothly onto the desktop for comfortable use. It is universally molded, so could be used by both left and right handed people. The shape could be slightly different to mold into the hand a bit better, but no complaints in this aspect as is.
I find that this mouse is very reliable and would recommend it to anyone considering a simple cheap mouse. The only think I would like to see is two more additional buttons to act as forward and backward in Internet Explorer. Apart from that I am completely happy with this mouse.
