This is the second of my reviews on mice, and as such it has a slightly upbeat nature in comparison to my last review on the XPRO mouse.
That is not to say that the Microsoft Wheel Mouse is perfect, but it has many advantages over the XPRO mouse (the main one being, the fact that it doesn't wander off randomly).
The Microsoft Wheel Mouse is a very typical OEM style optical mouse, with the standard two buttons and a scroll wheel.
It is not spectacular looking, but looks and feels functional (looks aren't everything!). Mine was supplied with a PS2 adaptor so that I didn't have to use up a USB port on the machine - useful on older machines with few spare USB ports.
The mouse is accurate, reliable and makes a good workhorse for most applications. The only drawback is the lack of any browsing buttons (i.e. forward and back for web navigation) which if you do a lot of web navigation does let the mouse down.
Still, for the ~£15 price tag the mouse provides great value for money and would wholeheartedly recommend it.
Look elsewhere though if you spend a lot of time on the web!
