Reviews which might be of interest for "Microsoft Windows Live OneCare 2.0 Retail Box"

OneCare is good, but just not excellent

Advantages: Up to three PC's on one license, easy to use, integrated backup feature
Disadvantages: A little too over simplified for expert users, backup system is rather proprietary

There were a number of factors that led me to purchase Microsoft Windows Live OneCare to protect my PC's at home: 1) The one package included licenses for more than just the one PC 2) I had been in the Beta Test for the product, (so I had 'insider' knowledge on the program) 3) I wanted one unified protection solution from a well known company. Throughout this review I'll be going over these three points, as well as identifying many of the products features, good points and the bad points. I hope you enjoy. Let's begin Features ---------------- Microsoft Windows Live OneCare is an all round system and internet security system. It contains familiar system protection levels such as real time virus scanning, active firewall, spyware protection etc. but it also includes a couple of more unique items; these being Performance Plus ...

Windows 7: Is what Microsoft is saying really true?

Advantages: Runs really fast, Some very good features, any decent machine can run it.
Disadvantages: The Price. It looks like vista and it really is just a brush up on the old OS

) RAM (32-bit) or 2 GB RAM (64-bit) 16 GB available hard disk space (32-bit) or 20 GB (64-bit) DirectX 9 graphics device with WDDM 1.0 or higher driver Price for the OS: 2/10 I'm very suprised on how much they're charging for this. In my Country (UK) a single 1 use lisence can be found form around £63 for the upgrade pack. Because Vista was so shoddy I was hoping for 7 to be around £20-30 for an upgrade from Vista. I was a little dissapointed. Overall: 6/10 Many things have improved but all it is is a lot faster and a lot more managable than XP and vista. It's alot of money and I don't think it's worth it. Though if you think you want to be modern, up to date and have a fast smooth OS for once I guess is buy it. It's much better than XP and Vista. *Tip for buying Windows 7: If you have a Son/Daughter over 14, you may ...

Review of Microsoft Windows 7 Home Premium

Xbox Live - It's another world

Advantages: Superb experience
Disadvantages: Its not free

Introduction Xbox live is the name of the Microsofts online service for the Xbox 360. This service gives you access to a vast array of content, some of it free, and some of it at a price. There are 2 types of membership available, namely Gold and Silver. Silver is a free membership which is available to all Xbox owners. Silver allows you access to most promotional video and feature content via the 360 dashboard but does not allow you to play games online. So what is so special then about Xbox live? The Playstation Network is free, the Wii gives free access to its limited catalogue of online games and seeing as the Silver Xbox Live is also free, why bother paying what seems like a high amount for the Gold membership. These were my own personal sentiments when I first bought my Xbox. Coming from the Wii, I was horrified when ...
