I recently upgraded to Vista business having always been an early adopter for Operating systems, however this is the first time ive considered downgrading.
Im running this on a "Vista Ready" Centino Duo laptop and i have had to turn all settings to the lowest possible in order to get remotely copeable performance out of it.
My boot up time has increased by approx 40 % and shut down time has increased as well
Ive also noticed that my pc wont hibernate since installing vista - it will always crash when trying to wake up.
Programs generally run a lot slower than what they did in xp.
Basically I would say if you have the processor speed and memory to handle it, then its definately worth consider upgrading - but also on reflection maybe it would be a better call to wait until the service pack comes out.
If you are running anything less than 2gb of memory and either a 3ghz processor or 1.83ghz dual processor i wouldnt bother.

(+) Faster, good networking with other Windows machine, so far it has not crashed. (-) price, best to do a fresh install which will involve backup & restore of information
