Installation: Very Easy and Automatic My experience on Windows Vista Ultimate is to install in dual boot mode, which I install Windows Vista Ultimate without uninstalling Windows XP that was installed on my hard drive before, because I am still unsure of this new operating system. And after I have the DVD of Windows Vista Ultimate, the next step is running and enter on Windows XP that was installed on my computer and then insert the Windows Vista Ultimate DVD to the DVD drive. And the installation process runs automatically and I am prompted to enter the serial
number after that, the installation process is running.
But some time after the installation process runs (about 48%) suddenly the installation is stopping without leaving a message of any kind. And I try to put the DVD out and put it in back again to the DVD drive to start the process again from the beginning. But the same thing was happen again the installation stop in the middle of the installation process (about 48%) without leaving a message of any kind. And after I try it several times and installation still can not run until finished, then I decided to go to a place where I buy the DVD. And one of the software seller told me the way out of the problem, that is I can not install Windows Vista Ultimate in Windows XP environment, so I must reboot my computer and start booting from the Windows Vista Ultimate DVD without entering Windows XP first. And when I try to follow all the instructions given by the software seller, and in fact the correct installation process can run until the end. And that makes me very happy in the process of installation is this all goes automatically where I almost didn’t do anything after filling the serial number, because restart process done automatically as well as boot manager that is created automatically through the installation process be completed.
Interface: Beautiful After the installation is finished, I started entering for the first time in the environment of Windows Vista Ultimate. And the difference the first time I see when entering the Windows Vista is replaced its "start" button that we usually find in Windows XP with the button that picture image of Microsoft logo. And some other different features that can not be found in Windows XP is Windows Side Bar where we can see the clock and calendar, and other gadgets that are located on the right side of the desktop. The other different thing from the Windows Vista is skin that is now black, and cannot set or change into other colors. But the most different and pierce is Windows Aero program that lets us switch from one program to other programs that are currently running in 3D mode. And too many more that can be told of the features available such as the addition of the 3D’s game, such as chess game. So to prepare for the appearance of Windows Vista I think that we should provide a 3D Graphic Card, which has a large amount of memory.
Compatibility with other software programs or devices: Bad The next step, I tried to install some software program, and a software program that the first I installed is Microsoft Office 2007. And because I had to install Microsoft Office 2003 in Windows XP, for Windows Vista I installed Microsoft Office 2007, and the installing process is running perfectly. And the next software I installed is the Norton Antivirus 2007 and Norton Antivirus 2007 that can run on Windows XP cannot run on Windows Vista. And after I find information on it I found that Norton Antivirus 2007 have two versions, running on XP and also running on windows Vista. So in other words we need to pay extra to buy Norton Antivirus 2007 version of Windows Vista to run on Windows Vista operating system. And so also with the programs that have been release before or right when Windows Vista was released almost entirely unable to be installed in Windows Vista. And make it more strange that after I install Tune-Up Utilities 2009 although it’s a new release program, but after installing process was finished but I have to go through some questions before I can run it. And to many “over security” I encountered on Windows Vista, such as if I want to delete some files, where I have to go through several questions before I can delete them, even some of the unused files from the program that has been uninstalled in the folder: "C: \ Program Files" or "C: \ Program Data" can not be removed at all, with the message that told me did not have the right to remove them, even I’ve logon as Administrator. In the hardware side, Windows Vista cannot read my USB drive and ask me the driver for it so that I can use it.
Choice To be able using Windows Vista we have to prepare additional funds to purchase both hardware and software that has been supported. But to be able using Windows Vista Ultimate without the additional funds is waiting several years to provide a chance for Microsoft to update drivers that needed for each software or hardware.
