hello im lewis and im going to tell you the ups and downs of xp home edition
windows xp home edition is great for home computing and will be sutible for anyone who dosent think they could use vista xp is a very very stable operating system and does not contain a qautre of the bugs vista contains. home edition is specifficly designed with you in mind it includes things such as home network set up,movie maker, media player and so much more unlike xp professional xp home edition is made for anyone who wants a easy to use not advanced operating system i used professional my self for several years in the work place and found it extremely advanced but then when i had had enough i one day switched my laptop to xp home and i had a great time it went faster, ran smoother and was very easy to use if for example you have an older computer and want to upgrade it here are the specs you need DON'T upgrade unless your computer has these capabilities
pentium 4,ceeron or amd processor 512mb memory 40 gb hard drive 30 will do but not good SATA hard drive technology
if your computer meets the standerds requried then im telling you now upgrading to xp home edition from say 2000 or 98 or me will be the best decision you will ever have made for your computer
happy upgrading!!!!

(+) Faster, good networking with other Windows machine, so far it has not crashed. (-) price, best to do a fresh install which will involve backup & restore of information
As an IT engineer, I wouldn't call XP a 'very very stable operating system', and it has lots of bugs and security holes. But yes, it is miles better than Vista! I've found Vista the worst version of Windows since 3.0, it doesn't seem to have been thought out properly, bug-tested, usability-tested or compatibility-tested much before putting it on the market to cash in as quickly as possible. It's also irritatingly complicated to administer. I really hope Microsoft do better next time!
