I think XP is great much snazzier than 2000 and 98, but if your thinking of buying a Microsoft operating system you may as well get Windows vista, as its newer, and XP is actually very old. I give Windows XP a rating of 8/10, sorry its a little short, but its quite hard to detail every aspect.

Windows XP, Windows eXPerience.
Advantages: A nice basic operating system, a few cool features. Disadvantages: Getting old, programs are too basic for my liking.
...your thinking of buying a Microsoft operating system you may as well get Windows vista, as its newer, and XP is actually very old. I give Windows XP a rating of 8/10, sorry its a little short, but its quite hard to detail every aspect.
Actually, I'll talk to you about some of the Microsoft programs that are included in XP.
Internet Explorer: This program is good for browsing the net, although if your a serious surfer ... ...music and I personally think Microsoft made good effort to make this, and they actually put some nice features into it, well done XP, at least you done something right!
Thanks for reading my review on Windows XP.
Edit: Someone has just commented about the minimum Configuration, so here it is, not much really, just not an ancient system:
PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz ... more
Windows XP, a great long lasting operating system. Although planning to upgrade to vista (Due to its sleeker looks, and to up up with technology) XP is still a great operating system, and has served me well for the last 4 or 5 years. Now as you can already tell this is going to be a very long review, as this is an operating system, and I'm not gonna pull a fast one on this. So lets go over the design of windows XP, for starters if you didn't know what XP stands for, it means eXPerience, good idea right?! Anyways when you first have entered all your details you will be showed with a welcome screen, which welcome has no capital, and actually, looks quite silly. Anyways, here will list your current users, you can click on them (And enter the password if you have one, for extra security) You will then be presented with a screen called the "Desktop" Here displays your own background which is changeable, a task bar (The blue thing at the bottom) You can click on start to "Start" Applications, like games, and word etc. By default the task bar is blue at the right end it shows you your programs running hover your cursor "The white arrow" Over the icons and they'll tell you what they are, you can right click on them to see some options. Also on your desktop, you may have noticed these little pictures with text under them, these are called icons, click on them to explore them.
Thats basically the basics! Now my opinions...
Actually, I'll talk to you about some of the Microsoft programs that are included in XP.
Internet Explorer: This program is good for browsing the net, although if your a serious surfer get Firefox or another alternative, as they are more efficient, and work faster.
Paint: The classic paint, its a really basic program to draw, and its almost exactly the same in Vista, which I think is stupid as I thought they may of made it better like Photoshop and other programs, but I suppose their only for basic use.
Movie Maker: Its a great basic video editor, which isnt too bad and ok for uploading to youtube, although its not exactly smart, sleek, or decent, but it works.
Media Player: Now media player, is great for music and I personally think Microsoft made good effort to make this, and they actually put some nice features into it, well done XP, at least you done something right!
Thanks for reading my review on Windows XP.
Edit: Someone has just commented about the minimum Configuration, so here it is, not much really, just not an ancient system: PC with 300 megahertz (MHz) or higher processor clock speed recommended; 233-MHz minimum required;* Intel Pentium/Celeron family, AMD K6/Athlon/Duron family, or compatible processor recommended 128 megabytes (MB) of RAM or higher recommended (64 MB minimum supported; may limit performance and some features) 1.5 gigabyte (GB) of available hard disk space.* Super VGA (800 × 600) or higher resolution video adapter and monitor CD-ROM drive Keyboard and Microsoft Mouse or compatible pointing device I'd say at least 256 MB of RAM.
