You will be safe, atleast you will know when you are under threat from from terrorist of the net, the malicious viruses.
Addendum:
1.Upgrading to ServicePack 3 or above is just a few clicks (Please the system requirements while upgrading, its not the same as SV 2) otherwise you will land up with a very slow PC.
2. Don?t bother about the pop ups, some times annoying but just start using it in a few hours the solution to block them will come to you. Just a bit getting used to is required!!
3. It is equally good for laptop so don't worry.

Advantages: Many features, reliable, OEM version is priced well. Disadvantages: Vista is out, DX10 not supported (not currently an issue)
plug your device in and whether it be a USB memory stick or a Printer, Windows will probably detect it and you will be able to use it straight away! You may not get all functionality from the basic Windows drivers and have to download and install them but at least you can use your device!
Security is important to WindowsXP and it has been given a brand new Security Centre in its update to ServicePack2, here you can configure Windows Firewall, which will protect your PC from anyone trying to hack you. You usually have to pay to get a firewall so the fact that Windows provides one for free is very welcome. Advantages: Runs really fast, Some very good features, any decent machine can run it. Disadvantages: The Price. It looks like vista and it really is just a brush up on the old OS

I'm very suprised on how much they're charging for this. In my Country (UK) a single 1 use lisence can be found form around £63 for the upgradepack. Because Vista was so shoddy I was hoping for 7 to be around £20-30 for an upgrade from Vista. I was a little dissapointed.
Overall: 6/10
Many things have improved but all it is is a lot faster and a lot more managable than XP and vista. It's alot of money and I don't think it's worth it. Though if you think you want to be modern, up to date and have a fast smooth OS for once I guess is buy it. It's much better than XP and Vista.
