Ihave been using the windows XP for a while now.As I think its one of the most reliable Operating system that are available aropund the market at present. after the release of the XP SP2 it has become more reliable but I don't find much enhancement in it performance. Servicepack 2 included with numerous bug fix which makes the OS more stable and in some respect solid.with the enhanced firewall settings really discourages the hackers in some respect. So Microsoft done a great work in building such a thing which comes with IE.So when a pop up will come out a message will show in the status bar saying about the opo up to view you just have to click on it.By default it comes with the sound also which you can turn on or off from the menu settings.The Microsoft removed the Media Bar from its latest SP3 so when I tried to download the flash player from Adobe it only blocked it. for security reasons.on clicking on the message will allow you to download the requisite files.the firewall is a great advantage in the new SP3 as you move around the security section you will find the Windows Ypdate,Firewall setting and Anti Virus protection.I would suggest users to keep all of them on and probably keep the additional Antivirus either from the Microsoft or any other vendor.Outlook express comes with a big handy as it blocks all the additional pictures which helps protect the spammers from targetting the pc. Windows XP is really a games friendly OS.All most all the games are suited to the OS and can be played without much Graphics and configuration problems.Since XP with SP2 is more to offer so I would definitely prefer more users for this reliable OS.
Summary: One of the most reliable Os around the market from Microsoft
Advantages: very stable, lots of security tools Disadvantages: 64bit internet explorer is ill suported
i have been using this operating system for about a year now and i have found it a very usefull system, i have found it a lot more stable than previous 32 bit systems and i have never had to re-install it from the cd. Games also run faster!
it comes with lots of security features such as popup blockers and firewall and if you dont know what your doing on the net it will make sure you'l stay safe.
looks and feels just like windows xp professional.
... ...hold of it it supported very little hardware only in the recent months have official printer drivers became available for my hp printer, i used to spend hours looking for x64supported software such as antivirus. however all my hardware and software needs are now catered for.
64bit internet explorer still dosent fully support in web page videoes and flash games and media, but dont worry too much about that, there is still a 32bit internet explorer ...
