All in all this is a brilliant mouse from the Microsoft Corporation and no doubt another product to increase Bill Gates billions!

So onto the actual review of the mouse itself....
The Design
A very slick design I must say and ergonomically friendly to both right and left handed people (I'm slightly ambidextrous so I tested it!) The colour is nice which is a black rough plasic round the sides for good grip and smooth grey plastic on the top where the buttons are and where your palm would sit. All in all it is very comfortable to hold and use and I'm very happy with it.The mouse itself is wireless with a USB transmitter so no more obtrusive wires!
The Buttons
Unlike your conventional mouse with a 2 button and scroll wheel configuration, the has 4 buttons and a 2 way scroll wheel! I've indicated these in the badly edited picure below. The left and right click buttons work as you'd expect and I've had no problems with them. The scroll wheel is brilliant! As well as vertical scroll and an additional central button, the wheel provides horizontal scroll by pushing the wheel from left to right (as opposed to rolling it vertically). This feature has proved especially useful when viewing wide internet pages and documents. The auxiliary side bettons can be used to perform any task you want, which you select from the mouse configuration menu, with the defaults being Left - Back button (internet explorer etc,,,) and the right providing a rectangular virtual magnifying glass on the screen so you can view certain parts a bit larger. I have one problem with the 2 additional buttons though. Since my right ring finger rests over the right side button (and left for left handed use), i've been consistently pressing the buttons by mistake. This began to annoy me so now i've disabled that buttons from doing anything in the setup menu....PROBLEM SOLVED!
Accuracy
I've always been curious about laser mice (not the little mutated rodents!) as all the hype has been that they are far more accurate that optical units. Well after using this one i can confirm that they definitely are! The mouse is incredibly responsive and it has proved so useful when i want to cut and paste text, select objects. My old mouse used to migrate to one side of the screen when I wasn't using it! I've tested the mouse on a wooden table, my jeans, the smooth plastic of my laptop and it still moved with extreme precision! For all you technoboffs out there, it uses a Class 1 Invisible Laser so it's perfectly safe. It doesn't produce a red light like an optical mouse.
Installation
This is a 3 step, piece of cake, easy process! The components you are given are 1. Installation CD 2. USB Wireless Transmitter 3. The Wireless Mouse with 2x AA Energiser Batteries.
All that was required for me to do was insert the CD, wait for it to autorun, select which mouse model to install drivers for, as it had a variety, go for a coffee while it installed. After that it prompts you to insert the USB transmitter, add batteries to the mouse and away you go! This took me a total of 5 minutes.
I cannot comment on the battery life as i've not had it for long enough to comment but from what i've read from other reviews is that it's pretty good.
All in all this is a brilliant mouse from the Microsoft Corporation and no doubt another product to increase Bill Gates billions!

...believe the price for a Microsoft product. There are many gaming laser mouses that are more expensive but I found this one perfect for a gamer on a budget.
When I received the product I couldn't believe all the different features it had. The first thing I recognized though from using it was the smoothness. It was so much easier to use than an optical mouse. The software supplied is also very easy to install and helps you to set up all the different ... ...in four different directions. You may think this is pointless but when you have its amazing all the different things you use it for. One thing I found it was good with was Excel documents when you have to scroll left and right. The scroller also has a button which can be assigned. The other two buttons you can assign are easy to access from the side. The left button is set up for the going back on the browser and the right button for the magnifier. ...

I really like this mouse, although it feels quite large if your going from a laptop mouse to this.
I love the side buttons, they are great for going back a page on the internet and its something I have found very helpful even though it can be pressed accidentally. The right hand side button magnifys the pages in a some square I fins this useful when I'm lying ing bed watching a DVD as it means I can skip forward a chapter much easier as I can see ... ...scroll wheel is good, although sometimes it does scoll to far (but that may be my settings, I don't know). Also with this scroll wheel the user is able to scroll from left to right, this is useful if the user is using Exel or a spreadsheet program to move from left to right, other than that I rarely use it unless a website has a left right scroll bar.

Advantages: Overall Great Disadvantages: bit chunky
It has a really stylish look, althought could be quite chunky but is very comfortable to use in comparrison to the smaller ones, I use this on my computer downstairs whilst setting the computer upto my TV downstairs as a monitor I find this has good distance and works very welll, i would say it works great for someone who also is a fan of gaming and requires a mouse that would be used alot and wouldnt get dirty underneath easily, as i have found ...
