LONG LIVE HD DVD!!!
Like alot of people out there I wanted to enter into the world of high def. movies but found myself asking 'is it worth it'.
I found my question answered by a visit to my local gamestation where I stubmled across an XBox 360 add-on drive for £25.00 with 2 films!
The unit provides great picture and sound when watching back movies and with films now available from £2.99 (hmv.co.uk - a few examples: American Gangster-£2.99, The Kingdom-£2.99, The Thing-£2.99.........go have a look for yourself!) this is the investment that has to be made by anyone who is wanting to 'dabble' in an HD upgrade.
All this and you only have to stick in the supplied disc, give it 25 seconds to run/save and you're good to go.
Also as well as performing as a HD player this unit will also act as an upscaler for standard DVD's..........can not go wrong!
With everything there are the HD DVD bashers out there who will give it 'this is dead, blu-ray rules' ect. True-but if you are curious and don't wish to put out hundreds of pounds on the back of curiousity I'd recommend picking up wone of these units while you can!
How helpful would this review be to a person making a buying decision? Rating guidelines
Welcome to Ciao ~ l suppose you assume we all own an Xbox 360 to use this with? (to say nothing of a screen with which to view it)

Nice review. Although I'm one of those people who things it will be, if not already is, dead technology; I had no idea it was that cheap! Which makes it great value for money for what you're getting... especially as I'm sure there'll be tons of cheap HD DVDs around soon.... Nice discovery and thanks for sharing!
