The Xbox 360 Memory Unit serves as a useful tool for taking your game saves and Gamercard with you wherever you go. The small memory card fits into one of the slots in front of the Xbox 360 console, and it is then registered as a new storage device immediately. Any game saves can then be automatically saved to your Memory Unit. If you have files that you wish to move onto your Unit then it is very simple and quick to do so. The file you wish to add to your Memory Unit simply has to be moved from the Hard Drive via the Memory menu on the Xbox 360 Dashboard, a process that is very easy indeed. From there it can be moved back to your own console whenever you wish it to be.
Whilst this is handy for moving your files around, it definately isn't recommended as a permanent storage solution, simply because of the small size. Notably, the 64MB Unit actually on has 51MB of free space due to the system items that are already saved on the Unit and can't be deleted. Anyone that is hoping to download games, extra content, videos or movies from the marketplace would do much better to purchase a Hard Drive instead.
As for the pricing of the product, it is quite overpriced as you can purchase a Memory Unit with 512MB for only a few more pounds, which would probably be much better for people . For people which want a permanent storage solution, and with a little extra money, you will also be able to get a pre-owned Hard Drive with 12GB of storage for about £50 or less and those with even more to spend could get 120GB hard drives for around £100. I therefore wouldn't recommened that you buy this specific storage device, unless you are on a budget, or if you just want a device to transport gamesaves.
