All the buttons except the start and back button are pressure sensitive this basically means the harder you press the button the faster your accelerating is in a driving game, or the harder you punch in a fighting game.
WHATS THE DIFFRENCE ...for a lot of reasons
1, The Size was to big and smaller gamers had a hard time holding it let alone reaching all the buttons,
2, the buttons layout was not very good and has now been changed in the new styled pad and the buttons are now gamer friendly as well as the size.
Over this entire pad is good for somebody who has large hands but not really for the average gamer.

This is the original controller of Xbox, and I really like it. It is comforttable and nice to look on, but of course, the most important thing is how it feels to play with it.
Some people say it is too big, and partly I can agree with them, but I think you most of the time reach the buttons and it fitts in your hand too.
There are many buttons on the controller (13). There are two trigglers (you mostly use them to walk around and look around) There ... ...of one of the trigglers.
There are 4 "action buttons" which are used to jump, break (racing), reload your weapon, etc.
Then there are the start and select button. They you use when you want to pause a game, go to main menu, view score etc.
But now to my favourite buttons, "the fire buttons", which are used to fire your weapon and throw grenades. They are placed on the backside of the controller, and this makes it feel like you fire a real gun ...

This was the first controller to xbox and I like it. Some people think it is too big, and yes, it is pretty big. But i have small hands and I can use it anyway and I think it is comfortable, so a person with big hands, I think would like this one better than the small one. Ok sometimes it feels like you can't reach all the buttons and if you usually use the small controller, you will not like this the first time because this one and the big one are ...

Advantages: A decent sized controller for once Disadvantages: You have a job on finding one
Many people will see the "Duke" XBox Controller and complain it's too large. However when using it you find the controller "sits" in your hands rather than having you "hold" like PS2 and GameCube controllers. This makes for a more comfortable experience and less hand ache over any length of time.
There are problems with it but size isn't it. The buttons are too rounded which doesn't make for a good beat 'em up controller as any beat em up fan will ...
