Let me just state first of all, I am an Xbox fan. I have one original version and have just treated myself to a new (Improved?) crystal version. I love it, and you know why I bought it first of all? Simply because it had the original Buffy the Vampire Slayer game and the Playstation 2 didn’t (excellent reason to buy it, don’t you think?) But despite my love of the Xbox, I will try and be as un bias as I possible can!
Playstation 2 Advantages (even writing about PS2 first!)
• Great selection of games, if there’s a hit movie, there will be a Playstation 2 game out the following week you can be absolutely sure.
• Cheaper than the Xbox and scanning around Game today, the games are not cheaper, but there are more title’s in the bargain bin thing as wider selection of game title’s.
• Can be stood up (although not advised)
• Looks pretty cool, smaller and more compact than the infamously bulky Xbox.
• Easier controls (so I’m told, I don’t necssecerily agree, but that’s just because I am used to the Xbox controls.
• Although not as good as the Xbox, the graphics are still pretty good.
• Can get the blue, silver and original versions. (Can get Xbox crystal, but that’s the only new one at the moment)
• Can use DVD’s
As you can see the Sony Playstation 2 has a good batch of advantages, good looking, plug and play, easy controls and fairly cheap; but here is the other end of the spectrum.
Playstation 2 Disadvantages
• Easily breakable, as the whole console cost not very much. Many people have told me that it has broken on them, when most of them
have treated like the most precious thing in their lives.
• As it costs less, the graphics are bound to be inferior. Which they are, I find that the games are often jumpy and the scenery and setting of the games aren’t as realistic.
• Although there is a lot of range on the game front, the quality of them are not as good, a lot of cheap movie cash in’s (I admit there are a few on the Xbox!)
• Have to buy memory cards to save game, can be 20-30 quid a time.
• Although easy to plug and play not as simple as the Xbox.
• Doesn’t have the same kind of price difference as the Xbox as Microsoft’s product has been pulling in more money, the company can afford to do better and better deals.
• The CD drive can snap off.
Wow I was pretty hard pressed to write all those disadvantages, which came as a shock to me, but now I realize that the main draw back of this console is that it’s flimsy and easily breakable. The graphics aren’t nearly as good as that of the Xbox’s but Microsoft did make that one.

Xbox Advantages
• Extraordinarily powerful. This console has the sheer power to generate the kind of graphics that some of the Xbox games demand. This makes the graphics much more realistic. Especially in those cut scenes that explain the story. (Example: I am a fan of Catwoman and have played the game on both of these consoles, at the start there is a cut scene telling the gamer how Patience made her transformation. The quality of the graphics are instantly noticeable and even some of my die hard Playstation 2 friends had to admit the massive difference!) Over all the Xbox can produce some absolutely visually stunning games.
• Well, although the design has been bashed by Playstation nutters (joke: I bought an Xbox, but had to take it back as I couldn’t fit it through the door! Ha, Ha how funny is that!) You’d have to be extremely destructive to break this one. Little chance of destroying any component.
• The crystal has just been released than in completely more aesthetically pleasing. It’s actually quite beautiful. (Ahh, a tear is coming to my eye!)
• Extremely easy to start going. Plug the mains in, then the stark lead, turn the machine on, and bob’s your uncle, set the date and time and you can have hours of fun playing you favorite games.
• I think the controls are very easy. (According to my friends I must be deformed!) But I don’t have very large fingers and I find I can grip it better. With my newest Xbox I got a controller that was slightly smaller and a lot better I can tell you.
• Some great games Halo, GTA, Catwoman (I love it, but everyone else hates it), Alias, Buffy’s, Hit and Run, Dead or Alive 3, Max Payne and many others.
• No memory cards needed (unless you save over 100 slot’s) therefore you save maybe even 60 quid (which goes toward the price difference between the two consoles)
• Can play DVD’s
• If you but the Xbox live kit, you can connect to the internet. (Why you’d want to be beyond me but hey, whatever turns you on!)
`As you can see I can think of more advantages for the Microsoft Xbox than the Playstation 2. I love it to bits.
Xbox Disadvantages.
• Undoubtedly bulky.
• Not a huge variety of games, but still a mix of genre’s and target audiences.
• More expensive.
• Have to buy a DVD playback kit.
As you can also see there are not many disadvantages, I can think of, I absolutely love it. The bulky design is a draw back, and it would be absolutely great if the Xbox had the same amount of games as the Playstation 2, but hey you can’t have everything!

Judge: Would Miss Ally McBeal (my female idol) please state the case for the Xbox
Miss McBeal: - yes, the Xbox is substantially more powerful than the Playstation 2. The graphics are unprecedented. Making the cheap looking one dimensional game a thing for the museum. It can play the DVD CD’s with ease, and the quality of the games are astounding. Microsoft has really excelled themselves in making the most high tech sort after gaming console ever. Finished your honor.
Verdict Decision: (they take an enormously long time to decide to build tension you see) they walk out looking particularly mournful and worried. One of them faints, one is sick and they all start crying.
Judge: Have you made a decision?
Verdict: Yes, we have decided the Xbox is the greatest console ever made.
(There are many gasps of shock and huge cries of despair)
So it’s final the Xbox is the best console out of the two, it’s absolutely fabulous (fandabbydosse) I advice everybody to rush out now and buy one (especially the new crystal one) Well done Mr. Gates, you have made a console that can be truly enjoyed by people of all races and ages. I VOTE YOU THE NEXT PRESIDENT OF THE UNITED STATES, GATES FOR PRESIDENT!!
