Manufacturer's product description
Dual-lens optics and with dual-platen scanning surfaces make this high-resolution scanner a production workhorse. The 36-bit ArtixScan 2500 scans originals as small as 35mm slides to reflective artwork up to 8" x 14". The AS2500 is versatile enough to scan A4 originals at up to 1250 dpi optical resolution or other film or reflective art at optical resolutions up to 2500 dpi in a 4" wide band running the length of both scanbeds. Included with this scanner are glass-free transparency holders to ensure that only the original image is captured and not the unwelcome artifacts introduced by glass. The ArtixScan 2500 offers an impressive range of scanning possibilities for graphic artists and pre-press professionals. Achieve crisp, accurate reproductions with density detection to 3.4D and high optical resolutions. High-intensity, long-life, cold cathode lamps that emit evenly dispersed, consistent light ensuring exceptional quality scanning of exposed images.

Advantages: Ease of use, speed, low price Disadvantages: None
...I bought the Microtek Scanmaker X6, aftter being a previous owner of a Mlcrotek scanner. I have an iMac with USB ports, this added to the ease of set-up of the scanner; a simple case of plugging it in and running the installer CD that it came with. It comes bundled with an excellent software package, including Adobe Photo Deluxe and the wonderful Coloult - one of my favourite budget graphic programmes. Scanning is simple and quick for the price, whilst also being quieter than rival models. Photo and colour reproduction is ver,v good. An all round excellent buy....

Advantages: Good picture Disadvantages: overheat some times
...We got this scanner about five months ago. When we got it, it was used and we didn’t have the drivers for it. Luckily it was easy to get them all I did was went on line to the microtek site and searched for scanmaker 6 and they had the drivers right there on the site.
I like this scanner it has good picture. It is also a very quite scanner. There is one problem I have found with it and that is that it can over heat. To make it over heat you have leave it on for three or four hours. When it is over heated it won’t work but all you have to do is turn it off and then on. I would suggest this scanner to anybody that want a good scanner....

Advantages: Affordable, solid, good quality and you can rest cups of tea on top! Disadvantages: Sometimes slow to scan and other scanners do have better quality
...We have had out Microtek Scanmaker 3600 for well over 5 years now and it is still going strong and doing the job for our entire family. I'm not sure how much we paid for it, but it was not a lot because we just wanted a basic scanner that could scan in documents. It is very reliable, easy to use, with a suitable range of features but has the tendency to be a bit slow occasionally.
1. Looks, Design and Size
The scanner is fairly good looking, quite elegant and fairly compact. It measures approximately 17" long, 10" across and 4" high so can fit into most desktop areas. It has a solid build to it and rather funky curve on the lid that gives it some added style. Furthermore, the main surface is flat and you can easily rest your cup of tea, lunch or bits of paper on top! The white colour is easy on the eye and fits in to most rooms quite...

The only reason I got this printer was the fact that it was on offer at Tescos and my other printer had broken. I have a Canon camera and know that Canon is a good well know brand. It also looks nice and modern and has a nice shiny black finish.

First, the conclusion:
I highly recommend the SHP 2500s for the uncritical TV listening for which they were intended. They're robustly built even if they don't hide their budget origins and the closed design stops sound from escaping and disturbing... more

We bought one of these to replace our older Sony stereo, we did not purposely go out looking for this stereo but decided to take a look around Halfords and this one caught our attention, so we bought this Sony.
