Click, flash, and capture your way to high-quality digital images. With just the touch of a button, you can have brilliant 3-megapixel memories - thanks to the Microtek's Take-it S3. With notable features such as a 4x digital zoom, five-mode variable flash, and 1.5" LCD, this Take-it S3 is perfect for the budding photographer or first-time user. The camera is also designed with a classic retro feel so you can take pictures in style. The Take-it S3 - the digital advantage at an affordable price.
Advantages: Digital & Optical Zoom, Easy to use, quite small. Disadvantages: No battery meter.
...I have had the Canon S3 IS for a year now. I really enjoy photography and this was my first proper camera.
I have found it very easy to use and found that the optical and digital zoom work very well together.
It is also great for close ups. It has Macro and Super Macro. This allows the subject of the picture to actually be on the lens and it is still able to focus properly.
It has a screen on the back which you are able to pull out and change the position of it. This is good if you are taking a picture of yourself with friends etc as you can see the screen on the front of the camera.
You are also adjust the shitter speed. This is great for night shots as it will let in as much light as possible.
In all I think that it is an amazing camera and is great for someone who is just starting out, as it is at a very reasonable...

Advantages: Big zoom & Super Macro, effective image stabiliser, movies with zoom Disadvantages: Too big for a pocket
...I've had the S3 IS for over a year (upgraded from an S1 IS) when prices dropped in anticipation of the S5 IS. It is a worthwhile upgrade, with twice the pixels (6.3m) and an increase form 10x to 12x zoom. Other changes since the S1 IS are: use of SD cards instead of CF, a much improved Super Macro mode for close up shots and the ability to take still shots whilst shooting video (there's a dedicated button). Also, the flash is now raised manually, which, I think, is an improvement because it is 100% reliable and obvious when the flash is on.
The lense has a range of 36 to 432mm at reasonable apertures. The IS stands for Image Stabiliser. This is very effective and compensates for shaky hands/low light or simply for the extreme focal length when any shake, like the image, will be magnified. The mechanism is not a simple raising...

Advantages: Long battery life giving over 900 pics per charge Disadvantages: quite heavy but no other faults found
...I purchased an S3 DSLR having owned a 6800 for some time. It accepts all the popular Nikon D type lenses as well as other makes. It features a dual sensor for even sharper better tone pictures. It also accepts the latest Nikon Zoom flashguns.
Unlike previous (S1 and S2 camera's, the S3 only requires a single set of 4 AA batteries. I use NiMh 24 - mn and on a full charge you will be able to take an average of 900 - 1000 pictures including limited reviewing.
All the usual features are present in a camera of this price.
This would not disgrace any professional photographers kit and although there are cheaper DSLR's finding one to match the picture quality of the s3 would be difficult.
I use it mainly for action event photographt but it is actually better suited to portrait and panoramic photography. for me, having already owned...
