Midnight - Dean Koontz

Advantages: More twists and turns than a basketful of eels!
Disadvantages: None if you like this sort of thing, which I do

Midnight has everything that makes great a chiller: strange goings on in a idyllic small town; shifty, closed-mouthed locals; weird creatures roaming the night; the FBI; a girl on the run from her parents; a mad scientist; and a dog. Sounds like too much to fit in and make sense of, but Mr Koontz encompasses all this and more into a thoroughly enjoyable read. The tale opens as Janice Lockland takes a night time run through the town of Moonlight Cove ...
...movement flickers at the edges of her vision.... and then she is attacked. The local police (somewhat reluctant to investigate properly - aha, a clue!) classify her disappearance as suicide, but her sister Tessa knows better and arrives in Moonlight Cove to find out for herself. Disadvantages: Absolutely None

This is one of the most edge of seat, can't put down read's i have ever come across and i've read a few. This book had me wondering what would happen next, and simultaniously not wanting to know what happens next. I really felt for the poor little girl Chrissie but was amazed at just what a strong charachter she turned out to be. I know if i was in her shoes i would have given up.
